SENATOR NED NWOKO SAID WHEN THEY WERE CHILD, THEY WERE TOLD TO DENIAL BEING IGBO, WHEN THEY SEE NIGERIA SOLDIERS, TO AVOID BEING KILLED

In an interview with Channels Television, Nwoko said that he and other Anioma children were warned never to admit that they were Igbo whenever they saw Nigerian soldiers during that period. He explained that they were told to claim they were from Benin or Yoruba communities instead. He said this was the only way many Anioma people could survive during the civil war era

In Nwoko's words: "During the civil war, you know we had the Asaba massacre, after the Asaba massacre and the rest of the killings within our area, we were told as kids that, 'If you see Nigerian soldiers you must not admit that you are Igbo, you must tell them that you are from Benin or you are Yoruba'. These are the kind of things that we had to do to survive the ethnic cleansing that happened at that time"

Keke Prices Set To Crash As VDM Visits Factory In China, REVEALS Real Price

Nigeria's number one patriotic citizen and man of the people, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, has heard the cries of Nigerians and visited one of the largest tricycle factories in China.

He was moved by the plea of one of his followers, who lamented how sellers have been overcharging for tricycles in Nigeria, claiming they are sold for 7 million naira.

VeryDarkMan went directly to the company and showed Nigerians how tricycles are manufactured from scratch and the different types produced.

He also revealed that the price of a tricycle in China is only 3.5 million naira, and this model is of a higher standard than those sold for 7 million naira in Nigeria, as it includes a front screen, a fan, and a Bluetooth connection.

IF YOUR CHURCH CANNOT CHANGE YOU, CHANGE YOUR CHURCH.

Do you know that, some so called men of God, some church leaders and priest does not serve the interest of God?

That's why they don't allow you to marry from other church, nor visit other church for any occasion/program, because they don't want to lose you to other church (not to allow you to stay where you can serve God properly), even when they don't have strong word of God, nor very strong in prayer. (No outside food/drinks is allowed in this restaurant) kind of priest/pastor.

Unlike hospitals/medical doctors, any case a hospital or doctor cannot handle, they will refer you to a higher hospital or specialist hospital. But it's unfortunate that this doesn't apply to our churches and pastors/priests.

If you don't have strong word of God and you cannot deliver this member of your church, why not refer him/her or allow the person to find a specialist to his/her spiritual case???

These kind of churches, their main aim/goal is to acquire more members for more fund (money) they don't serve the interest of God.

No more doing homeworks inside textbooks, prompting new students to buy fresh textbooks each term. Families who have many kids can now have their children inherit textbooks from their siblings.

-No extravagant graduation ceremony for nursery and primary students.

All these directives, which are aimed at curbing extortion of parents, making quality education more affordable, apply to both public and private schools in Abia State.

New Law: Nigerians Must Obtain Tax ID to Operate Bank Accounts, Businesses by 2026

Beginning January 1, 2026, Nigerians will no longer be able to open or operate bank accounts, run businesses, or access financial services without a Taxpayer Identification Number (Tax ID or TIN).

This landmark reform, contained in the newly signed Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025, is being described as the most significant change in Nigeria’s financial and tax system in decades.

WHAT THE LAW SAYS

Signed into law by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August, the Act makes it compulsory for:

Individuals: No bank account can be opened or operated without a Tax ID.

Businesses: From roadside traders to multinationals, all must register for a Tax ID.

Government Agencies (MDAs): Required to obtain Tax IDs before entering contracts.

Foreign Suppliers: Must register with the new Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) before doing business in Nigeria.

👉 Under Section 8(2) of the Act, banks, insurers, and stockbrokers will be barred from providing services to anyone without a valid Tax ID.

WHY THE REFORM MATTERS

Nigeria has long struggled with weak tax compliance:

Nigeria – 10% tax-to-GDP ratio

Ghana – 13%

Kenya – 16%

South Africa – 27%+

Global Average – 34%

Out of 200 million+ citizens, only 10 million are registered taxpayers, while more than 60 million Nigerians hold bank accounts.

This gap explains why revenue remains poor despite Nigeria’s economic size. Past reforms like the Bank Verification Number (BVN) and the National Identification Number (NIN) improved identity management. Now, the Tax ID mandate is seen as the next bold step to widen the tax net and cut reliance on oil.

The Act also abolishes the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), replacing it with the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) — a major institutional shake-up.

IMPLICATIONS FOR CITIZENS & BUSINESSES

Bank Customers: No deposits, withdrawals, or transfers without a Tax ID.

Small Businesses: Informal traders must register, creating new compliance obligations.

Corporate Nigeria: Stricter oversight will reduce tax loopholes.

Foreign Firms: Non-resident suppliers must comply before doing business in Nigeria.

PUBLIC REACTIONS

A civil servant in Abuja expressed concern:

> “It’s good for accountability, but I fear delays and corruption in the process.”

A Lagos-based tax consultant welcomed it:

> “This is long overdue. Without linking tax IDs to financial services, compliance will never improve.”

Pro wrestling legend Hulk Hogan dead at 71: US media

Hulk Hogan, the iconic face of professional wrestling in the 1980s who parlayed his prowess in the ring into an acting career, has died at the age of 71, US media reported Thursday.

Hogan -- a Hall of Fame talent known for his towering 6’7” (two-meter) physique, bandana and distinctive blond handlebar mustache -- died at his home in Florida, NBC News reported, citing his manager Chris Volo.

TMZ also reported the news, citing unnamed sources and an emergency personnel dispatch call about a “cardiac arrest” at his home.

Hogan’s magnetic personality -- his ring character was a heroic all-American -- and wrestling skills transformed the sport into mainstream family entertainment, attracting millions of viewers and turning the league into a revenue juggernaut.

Hogan -- real name Terry Bollea -- first competed in 1979 in the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now known as WWE) but became a mainstay and fan favorite in the mid-1980s alongside others like Andre the Giant and “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.

His brand of “Hulkamania” transferred to the small and big screen, with roles in films such as “Rocky III,” “No Holds Barred” and TV’s “Baywatch.”

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

“WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s,” World Wrestling Entertainment said on social media.

“WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.”

The wrestler was embroiled in controversy more than a decade ago after an intimate video of him leaked, and then again a few years later for his use of racist language, including a slur referring to Black Americans.

The latter caused him to be fired from WWE in 2015. He later apologized for his actions and was reinstated to the WWE Hall of Fame.

In recent years, Hogan became an avid supporter of US President Donald Trump.

He memorably appeared at the 2024 Republican National Convention that would seal Trump’s nomination -- tearing his shirt off to reveal a Trump-Vance tank top.

“With our leader up there, my hero, that gladiator, we’re gonna bring America back together,” Hogan said on stage in July 2024.

Hogan suffered numerous health problems in later years, stemming from the years of abuse his body took in the ring.

He was married three times, and had two children with his first wife Linda.

I have just received the very sad news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari in London. His death provides a solemn moment, not just for his family and close associates, but for our nation as a whole.

President Buhari has always comported himself in a dignified manner as a leader.

To his wife, children, extended family, and to all Nigerians I extend my deepest condolences.

May Almighty Allah, Most Gracious and Most Merciful, forgive President Buhari’s shortcomings, reward his efforts in service to the nation, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
