"Pastor, people keep saying I can't get a good job in this country, can this be true?"
Don't mistake fact for truth. It's a fact that the economy of the nation may be really messed up and getting a good job is almost impossible. Statistics have shown that even second and third decree holders still struggle to get a good job, let alone a first degree holder.
Countless number of first degree holders have settled for miniature jobs, while more creative ones among them become small business owners. Even at that, there's still struggle.
Our teens have settled for malevolence as a lifestyle. And that's because they've concluded that since going through school can't help them make a living, it's better to engage in mischievous activities. They know the consequences, but they'd rather take that risk than to suffer after school.
So yes, statistics proves that it would be difficult to get a good job in this nation. But hey, that's not the truth! In the face of truth, facts are false. Facts may come with physical proofs, but the truth sets free from all physical limitations. Facts do not determine the end results of a believer, only truth does. Let me show you a few scriptures:
SCRIPTURE 1:
John 8:
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
When facts limits or hold you captive, don't weep over that retrain; rather, search for truth from God's word. The moment you find the truth, the truth will make you free.
The devil uses facts to put fear in your heart, God use truth to put faith in your heart. Faith and fear are like light and darkness. The moment faith arises in your heart, it destroys fear and the limitations it placed on you.
So any time you feel fear by a situation or fact, it simply means you don't know the truth about that situation. Just because inflation has affected everything doesn't mean I have to cut down on my consumption, no! My God is a very present help in times of need, and inflation is simply a time of need. So I won't cut down my consumption because my Helper is present to help me. And He'd help me as though there's no inflation at all. Many Christians are suffering the situations that facts introduced into their lives because they don't know truth. If you want to be set free from factual situations, then know truth!
SCRIPTURE 2:
2 Corinthians 4:
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
So the situations that facts create are never permanent, they are temporal. And although they were created to make things hard, but for a believer, those situations will be used to work out a far more exceeding weight of glory. This also means that the presence of a situation is an opportunity to enjoy more of God's glory.
However, for this to become your portion, you mustn't dwell on the facts that you see, the facts you see are subject to change. Rather, dwell on the truth of God's word that you believe. Your meditation must not be on the facts, but on the truth. It's only a matter of time before you begin to see the manifestation of what you believe. "Blessed is she that believes, for there shall be a performance..."
SCRIPTURE 3:
Job 22:
29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
If you forget the other scriptures, please don't forget this one. If you remember the first two scriptures and neglect this one, you'd still risk suffering factual challenges. It is this very scripture that makes the first two work.
As Christians, we're not governed by what people or the economy says, we're governed by what we say. People and the government may say factual things, but if you feel their facts is a disadvantage to you, then speak your truth. Don't join them in speaking their facts, speak truth.
Christ came so you can have life and have it more abundantly. So any fact that doesn't contribute to your abundant life should be addressed by the truth.
So when they say it's impossible to get a job, you should say it's possible to get the best jobs and that you will get it. Anything they say you can't have by facts, tell them you can have them by truth.
I hope this has brought enlightenment to someone.
Remain ever blessed!
