Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell, and Shimon Sakaguchi have been awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their pioneering research on how the immune system prevents attacking the body — a mechanism known as peripheral immune tolerance.

Announced by Sweden’s Karolinska Institute, the trio will share the 11 million Swedish kronor ($1.17 million) prize and receive gold medals from the King of Sweden in December.

Their discoveries, dating back to 1995, have significantly advanced understanding of immune regulation and led to new approaches in treating cancer and autoimmune diseases.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is urging the Trump administration to release the September jobs report despite the ongoing government shutdown.

Warren, the top Democrat on the Senate Banking Committee, argues that the labor data has already been collected and processed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and is vital for the Federal Reserve’s upcoming policy meeting on October 28–29.

She warned that withholding the report leaves the Fed without crucial insight as it weighs interest rate decisions affecting millions of families.

The character's maker, Eline Van Der Velden of startup Particle6, insists Tilly is a "creative work" and not a replacement for human actors, comparing it to animation or CGI.

However, this defense has been met with sharp criticism from industry professionals, reflecting the deep-seated anxieties over AI that fueled the 2023 Hollywood strikes.

Chinese toy maker Pop Mart is adopting a Disney-like strategy to transform its viral Labubu character into a lasting global intellectual property.

Following a massive surge in its market value, the company aims to build a durable brand by focusing on long-term IP operation, moving beyond its origins in the "blind box" collectible trend.

Executives stated the goal is to cultivate a small portfolio of five to ten characters with century-long relevance.
