The first time I heard of artificial intelligence (AI) was in J.S.S 1, during our introduction to computer science when I was just 13.
It made me fall in love with computers and everything related to them. From that moment on, I started visualizing myself as an expert engineer working in a room full of screens, with one massive screen mounted right in the middle of the room in the form of a table. In my mind, I stood there answering to security intelligence. Someone might call it a daydream, but I could feel it in my bones that a day would come when even the air we breathe could be operated and controlled by AI.
Back then, our computer teacher used to tell us that the era of artificial intelligence—the fifth generation of computers—had not yet materialized.
But the truth is, we are living in that fifth generation right now: the AI generation.
It means that the future I once dreamt of is officially here, and all that is needed now is to evolve, position ourselves, and rise up with the tide.
To see just how far artificial intelligence has come in our generation, watch the movie Mercy—you will be absolutely marveled.
