Stop Crying for What You Don't Have — Create With What You Have

I came across this story yesterday, and it really got me thinking.

A woman whose face had been severely disfigured by illness shared her experience and the story of a friend who had lost her sight due to cancer.

But what struck me most was this: despite everything she had gone through, she was still creating, speaking, sharing, inspiring and giving value to others.

Then her friend said something profound to her:

Stop crying for what you don't have, and start appreciating God for what you have.

That statement hit differently.

Sometimes, we focus so much on what has changed, what we have lost, or what we can no longer do that we forget to look at what is still in our hands.

Your circumstances may not be perfect. Your appearance may have changed. Your resources may be limited. But there is still something you can create. There is still something you can contribute. There is still someone who can benefit from you.

Don't allow what you have lost to blind you to what you still have.

Appreciate it. Develop it. Create with it. And use it to impact someone.❤️

What do you still have today that you can use to create something meaningful?

Don't Just Start The Job.Understand The Job.
Before you pick up your tools and begin, take a moment to review exactly what needs to be done.
What is the customer's requirement?
What are the measurements?
What does the drawing or design say?
What are the important details you must not overlook?
Sometimes, a mistake doesn't happen because a technician doesn't know how to do the work.
It happens because the job was not properly understood before the work began.
Whether you're a welder, fabricator, carpenter, aluminum worker, glass installer, electrician, plumber, or other skilled professional, take time to understand the job before making that first cut, hole, joint, or installation.
A few minutes of review can prevent hours of rework.

Question:
👉 Have you ever started a job and later discovered that you misunderstood what the customer actually wanted?

🔧 Day 7/10 — Check Your Measurement
📐 Measure Twice. Cut Once.

One small measurement mistake can turn a good material into wasted material.

Whether you're working with stainless steel, aluminum, glass, wood, PVC, or any other material, don't rush the measuring stage.

Before you make that cut, drill that hole, weld that joint, or begin your installation, stop and check your measurements again.

Ask yourself:

👉 Is the measurement correct?
👉 Am I measuring from the right point?
👉 Have I checked the length, width, height, and angles where necessary?
👉 Did I record the measurement correctly?

Taking an extra minute to confirm your measurements can save you materials, money, time, and unnecessary frustration.

Don't let speed make you careless.

Measure carefully. Check twice. Then make your cut.

🔧 Day 6/10 — Prepare Your Materials
Don't start the job before you have what the job requires.
One of the eazsiest ways to waste time in the workshop is to start working, only to discover that an important material or component is missing.
Before making that first cut, take a few minutes to check your materials.
Do you have the right size?
Do you have enough quantity?
Are the materials in good condition?
Do you have all the accessories and fittings required?
Whether you're working with stainless steel, aluminum, wood, glass, PVC, or other materials, proper preparation can save you unnecessary trips, delays, and frustration.
A professional doesn't just ask, "What am I doing today?"
A professional also asks:
"Do I have everything I need to do it?"

🔧 Day 5/10
Plan Your Work Before Monday!
Sunday is not only for resting. It's also a good time to prepare for the week ahead.

You may not be in the workshop today, but you can already be thinking about tomorrow.

▪️What jobs are waiting for you?
▪️What materials will you need?
▪️Which customer should you attend to first?
▪️What tools need to be prepared?
▪️What job has a deadline?

A few minutes of planning today can save you hours of confusion tomorrow.

As technicians, fabricators, carpenters, welders, electricians, plumbers, and other skilled professionals, we don't have to wait until Monday morning before deciding what to do.

Plan ahead. Set your priorities. Prepare what you can today.

🔧 Day 5/10 — Plan Your Tasks & Set Your Priorities
Don't just start working—start with a plan.
One common mistake we make in the workshop is jumping straight into the first task we see without deciding what needs to be done first.
But working hard is not always the same as working smart.
Before you begin today's work, take a few minutes to look at your jobs and decide:
What needs to be done first? What can wait? What materials and tools will I need?
Having a simple plan helps you stay focused, manage your time, reduce unnecessary movement, and avoid forgetting important tasks.
You don't need a complicated system.
Sometimes, all you need is a few minutes to organize your thoughts and set your priorities.
Plan your work. Work your plan. Then give every task your best.

Question:
👉 Do you normally plan your day's work before starting, or do you simply start and figure things out along the way?
