CHAPTER 2: A DEAL WITH THE DEVIL.
__________

"All Done" A voice buzzed into Olivia ears.

Suddenly, she opened her eyes.

Her breath was quick as her eyes survey her environment and it landed on her own reflection on the mirror. she felt no weakness, no dizziness, no residual pain. her skin was smooth, unblemished. her clothes, moments ago blood-soaked and torn, were intact.

She was dressed in a wedding gown and her makeup was lightly done, just like the day she got married to Morris Greece, the scumbag who had once used her. WAIT!!. She is supposed to be dead right now but her environment says the otherwise.

She looked at the woman standing before her, confusion was written all over over her face . she can't help but ask. "Why I'm dressed like a bride?".

The Women before her squinted her brows confusedly before replying . "Today is your wedding day. have you forgotten? just three hours to your wedding" She said with a pleasant smile.

Olivia eyes widened immediately. Wedding? She quickly picked up her phone and glanced at the calendar. she was taken aback when she saw that it was June 5th 2017. the very day she said 'I do' to her husband.

Realisation struck her immediately. She was Reborn or she will say she was taken back in time. She looked down at her hands. They were hers, yet subtly different. Stronger. Her nails felt like sharpened talons. A raw, untamed energy hummed beneath her skin, a deep, resonant vibration that pulsed with every beat of her heart. The fear was gone. Replaced by a cold, burning emptiness where her love and trust once resided. And in that emptiness, a single, all-consuming fire: revenge.

The kind, naive Olivia was gone. Shattered. Reborn. A smirk crept her lips, she had returned for one thing. To ensure they paid. Every single one of them. In blood, in tears, in ruin. she looked at her reflection once more. This was not the end. This was merely the beginning. And she would make them wish they had never knew her existence.

“Now the game begins.”

"Did you say something? "The lady asked.

Olivia stood up, her eyes glanced toward a scissors on the table. She picked it up Joy pumping through her veins as she rip apart her dress . the lady gasped in shock trying to stop her.

"Do not Stop me I have a reason " she said indifferently, tearing off the lower part of her dress until late it reached her kneel, she isn't going to run with a long dress on that is why she need to cut it off. "I will be back " She said turning to leave.

"Your wedding is in an hour.." The lady reminded still not recovering from the shock.

Olivia ignored the lady and ran through the hallway. she can't let this wedding happen, she isn't going to make the same mistake she made I'm her past life. Never. she won't let history repeat it'self.

As she walked through the hallway. a familiar voices caught her ears, she turned toward the direction.

"Are we really gonna do this today again? I already explained things to you. I have to marry her if we want to live fine for the rest of our lives"

Unmistakably, that's Morris voice.

Olivia felt a sting in her head, and it became hazy, but the second voice ruined her more.

"I understand she's is the heir to the Edward legacy. and that's why we need her, but I'm scared. What if you fall for her after this wedding"

The voice was Natasha. the devil herself.

"No silly way, how could I fall for her? She loves me more than herself and it's stupid. You're the woman for me, Nata, and I can't wait give you the life deserve with her money" Morris replied.

Olivia breaths turned sour, and her insides burned with infernal betrayal. She cliche her fist tightly as psychopathic smile appeared on her face.

The sound of Morris and Natalie kiss reached her, if it was her past life she would her Bursted into tears, but now all she felt was disgust and hatred.

and she took photos of them.

The venom sank deep into her soul as she walked away.

[Twenty minutes later]

Olivia stepped down from taxi, her eyes scanned through the skyscraper before her. what she was looking for was inside that very building.

Only him can help her stop this wedding. she walked into the building and caught everyone attention with the way she was dressed in a wedding gown. "I'm here to see Mr Black" she said bringing out a black card. she dropped the card on the secertray desk. The Secretary made a phone call before leading the way towards the elevator.

"He is in there" the Secretary replied calmly before walking away. Olivia breath in before pushing the door open, Her eyes scanned through the entire office and land on a dark figure who stood tall. starring down at the large city landscape.

Olivia hesitated for a while before moving closer, she didn't know how start the conversation either. She hesitated for a while before summoning courage to speak. "Mr Blackwood. I need your help" there was a stressed silence between them. The figure didn't make a move neither replied to her statement.

"Help me cut off the wedding, and I'll give you anything!" The words ripped from her throat, raw and desperate, echoing in the cavernous space. It was a gamble, a reckless throw of the dice, but she was out of options. Desperation, she realized, tasted like ash.

A figure emerged from the shadows, tall and imposing, a predator drawn by the scent of weakness. Donovan Cassington. His name alone carried the weight of empires and the sting of fear. He moved with a fluid grace that belied the brutal power he wielded. His eyes, dark pools of obsidian, fixed on her, assessing, calculating.

He stopped before her, the air crackling with unspoken tension. "Anything?" A smirk played on his lips, a cruel twist of amusement. "Even if it means giving me your body, mind, and soul?" His voice was a low, dangerous rumble, each word a deliberate caress that sent shivers down her spine.

Olivia recoiled, the question catching her off guard. She hadn't anticipated such a brazen demand, but she couldn't afford to falter. Too much was at stake. "Yes," she spat out, the word a bitter pill. "I'll give you all of that!"

Donovan smirk deepened, a predatory glint igniting in his eyes. He circled her slowly, like a wolf sizing up its prey. "Intriguing," he purred, his gaze sweeping over her, lingering on the curve of her neck, the swell of her breasts. "Tell me, Olivia, what makes you think I would waste my time on such a… delicate matter?"

Olivia stood her ground, forcing herself to meet his gaze. "Because you thrive on chaos," she retorted, her voice gaining strength. "Because you enjoy disrupting the status quo. And because," she paused, drawing a deep breath, "ruining the Edward family will benefit you."

A flicker of surprise crossed Donovan 's face, quickly masked by a veil of indifference. "The Edward are of no concern to me," he drawled, but Olivia detected a hint of falseness in his tone.

"Don't lie to me," she snapped, her patience wearing thin. "They're encroaching on your territory. Their expansion into the Newyork market is a direct threat to your operations."

Donovan chuckled, a low, menacing sound that sent a chill down her spine. "You've done your homework," he conceded, his eyes narrowing. "But even if what you say is true, why should I trust you? You're a Edward , through and through."

"Not anymore," Olivia declared, her voice ringing with newfound conviction. "They betrayed me. They destroyed me. And now, I want revenge."

She laid bare her soul, recounting the chilling prophecy she had stumbled upon, the cruel machinations of her husband, Morris , and the devastating betrayal by her stepsister, Natasha. She spoke of their ambition, their greed, and their ruthless pursuit of power, which had led them to use her as a pawn in their twisted game.

"I handed him the pregnancy report, thinking we were starting a family," she said, her voice cracking with suppressed emotion. "But all he saw was an opportunity to seize control of my father's company."

Donovan listened in silence, his expression unreadable, as she recounted the night of her death, the poison, the knife, the faces of those she had once loved contorted with hatred. She described the agonizing pain, the suffocating darkness, and the chilling realization that her life had been nothing but a lie.

"They took everything from me," she finished, her voice barely a whisper. "My family, my happiness, my life. And now, I'm back to take it all back from them."

Donovan studied her intently, his eyes boring into her soul. He saw the pain, the anger, and the burning desire for revenge that consumed her. He also saw something else, something that intrigued him even more: a spark of resilience, a flicker of defiance that refused to be extinguished.

"Revenge is a dangerous game, Olivia," he said, his voice softening slightly. "It can consume you, turn you into something you never intended to be."

"I'm already something I never intended to be," she retorted, her eyes hardening. "I'm a ghost, a shadow of my former self. And I won't rest until I've made them pay for what they did to me."

Donovan remained silent for a long moment, weighing his options. He knew that helping Olivia would be a risky move, but the potential rewards were too tempting to ignore. The Rossis had been a thorn in his side for too long, and the opportunity to strike a decisive blow against them was too good to pass up.

"Very well," he said finally, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "I'll help you. But on one condition."

Olivia braced herself, knowing that his conditions would be steep. "What is it?" she asked, her voice barely audible.

"You belong to me," Donovan declared, his eyes blazing with possessiveness. "Body, mind, and soul. You will do as I say, when I say it. And you will never betray me."

Olivia hesitated, weighing the cost of his offer. Surrendering herself to Donovan Cassington was a dangerous proposition, but she saw no other way to achieve her goals. She needed his power, his resources, and his ruthlessness to take down the Edward .

"I accept," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
Donovan smile widened, a predatory gleam in his eyes. He reached out and took her hand, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through her body. "Good," he purred, his voice a silken caress. "Then let the games begin."

SYNOPSIS
______________

"Help me cut off the wedding, and I’ll give you anything!" Olivia cried out desperately, as if her very life depended on it.

The tall figure in front of her smirked, his eyes darkening with an unreadable intensity as he took slow, menacing steps toward her. "Anything? Even if it means giving me your body, mind, and soul?" he said, his voice low and threatening, closing the distance between them. The atmosphere felt suffocating, prompting Olivia to take a step back.

She swallowed hard, caught off guard by his question. "Yes, I’ll give you all of that!" she replied hastily.

Olivia stumbled upon a chilling prophecy of betrayal after handing her husband a pregnancy report. Her world shattered when she discovered the painful truth: her husband never truly loved her and had been using her as a pawn in his scheme to seize control of her father's company. After that, he divorced her and married her stepsister.

That same night, she was poisoned and stabbed by the very people she considered family. But her story didn’t end there.

Life granted her a second chance. She was reborn, no longer the kind and naive Olivia she once was. Now, she was stronger, fiercer, unbreakable, and unstoppable. She had one purpose: REVENGE.

Now, she found herself colliding with the most dangerous man in Italy, ready to avenge the scumbags who had wronged her in her past life.

CHAPTER 1&2: CRUEL BETRAYAL

The room fell silent as Olivia stumbled backward fearfully not wanting to believe what she was holding, hand froze,he eyes scanning over the clean white envelope.

"What's this, Morris ?" Her voice was barely a whisper, different from the joyful melody it had sung in my mind just minutes before. She tried to sound casual, to dismiss the absurd thought that had begun to take root in her mind. Maybe it was some company boring document, he needed her signature on. Her fingers trembled as I reached for it, the corners crisp and sharp against her skin.

He didn't answer. He simply watched me, his dark eyes like chips of charcoal, devoid of the warmth she had seen there just an hour ago. That unwavering gaze, so often a source of comfort, now felt like a spotlight exposing my deepest vulnerability.

Olivia pulled out the documents. The first word that screamed at her from the page was "PETITION". Her gaze blurred, then cleared, focusing on the header: "PETITION FOR DISSOLUTION OF MARRIAGE."

Divorce!!!

The word ripped through the air she breathed, stealing the oxygen from her lungs. It spun, dizzying, horrifying, impossible. Three years. Three years of shared laughter, quiet mornings, whispered secrets, and passionate nights. Three years of building a life, a home, a future. And now, this.

"Morris?" Her voice cracked, barely audible. Shr looked up at him, her eyes pleading for an explanation, for him to tell her this was a cruel joke, a misunderstanding. "What... what is this? Is this some kind of stupid prank?"

He leaned back against the counter, crossing his arms over his chest. His posture was so casual, so completely at odds with the devastation he had just unleashed. "Oh baby, it's exactly what it says, Via." His voice was low, even, stripped of any emotion. It was the voice he used in boardrooms, the one that commanded attention and respect, but never, never the one he used with her.

A cold dread began to spread through her veins, chilling her from the inside out. Her mind raced, searching for a reason, a logical explanation for this madness. "But... why? Morris , what happened? Did I... did I do something wrong?" Her voice hitched, a desperate plea for understanding.

"O! darling you did nothing wrong" Someone said sarcastically behind Olivia ,It was familiar, too familiar. Cutting her off… It was Natasha's voice. her stepsister.

A smug smirk was tucked at the edged of Natasha lips as she walked closer to her sister. Her eyes which was once filled with love, Care and affection was now filled with Anger, Hatred and mockery.

Natasha walked passed her sister and heard straight to Morris, she planted a soft yet passionate kiss on his lips and he responded quickly, Grabbing her waist possessively.

Olivia breath hitched in shock. She was speechless, unable to find her words. "What?" She finally voice out unable to belive her own very eyes.

"Surprise huh?" Natasha replied. "There is so much you need to know about. Sister" She purred, cutting off Olivia gaze, her voice dripping with over-emotional sweetness that made Olivia skin crawl. She came closer, to the table and picked up a pregnancy report Olivia had just given her husband. Natasha eyes scanned the documents and she Bursted into laughter making Olivia confused."You are funny Sister. After sleeping with numerous men. now you claiming the father to be Morris. So Scheming. Poor little bastard who doesn't know his real father. the bustard should hate his sluty mother right from birth".

Olivia boiled in rage, she never expected her innocent sister of all people to say this things to her face."You will speak no ill about me and my Child" Olivia roared.

Natasha scoffed "Or else what?" She tore the papers into tiny pieces.

Olivia gasped and ran over to torn papers as tears rolled down from her eyes. she picked them up as her heart broke into many pieces."How dare you do this" Olivia hissed angrily slapping Natasha very hard.

Natasha held her burning cheeks and smile mockingly.Morris immediately rushed towards Natasha in burning rage. "How dare you!".

He faced Olivia and hit her very hard on the face making her to stumble. "Morris please tell me all this Ain't real. please... you can't leave me alone with our child".

He sighed, a slight, impatient tantrum that made her flinch. " Sign those papers now. I'm doing what is right for me. For my future." He roared angrily.

My future? Our future, Olivia had thought. Her hand instinctively went to my stomach, a protective gesture. The little stick, the one that held the most incredible secret, felt heavy in her palm.

"Our future?" She echoed, the words barely escaping my throat. "What about our future, Morris ? What about everything we built? What about…" she trailed off, searching his eyes for a flicker of recognition, a sign that the man I loved was still in there, somewhere. There was nothing. Just that unnerving, opaque gaze.

"There is no 'our future,' Olivia " he stated, his tone flat. "There hasn't been, not in the way you seem to imagine. the only future I have is with Natasha, Our marriage served its purpose. Now, it's concluded."

Olivia head reeled. "Served its purpose?" her voice rose, a raw, strangled sound. "What purpose, Morris ? What are you talking about? Are you saying... our marriage was a lie?"

He didn't deny it. her breath caught in her throat. This wasn't the man she married. This was a stranger, cold and terrifyingly composed.

"Look, Olivia," he began, his voice now tinged with a condescending patience that made her blood run cold. "Let's not make this difficult. The papers are straightforward. My lawyers will be in touch with yours. You'll be well compensated, of course."

"Compensated?" she pushed the papers away from me as if they were venomous. "You think money can compensate for this? For three years? For everything?" Her voice was shaking now, tears blurring her vision. she blinked them back furiously. she wouldn't cry, not in front of him. she wouldn't give him that satisfaction.

"You're being dramatic," he observed, his lips twisting into a thin, humourless line.

"Dose mother knows about this?"Olivia sniffed in her tears holding them.

The sound of sitello heels clicking on the polished floor caught Olivia sensitive ears."Yes I know. yes I do" Zoraya voice sounded from the stairs.her movement graceful and fluid, with victory shimmying in her sapphire gown, followed by Raymond.Zoraya notorious personal guard . His eyes, usually impassive, held a glint of something predatory.

"Corrections . I am not your mother. your mother is in hellhole where she belongs". Olivia froze, her blood turning to ice. Her stepmother,

Olivia heart drop to my stomach. This wasn't an escape; it was a trap.

"Zoraya ?" Olivia voice was a shaky whisper. I glanced desperately towards the fire exit, but Raymond took a silent, intimidating step, effectively blocking her path.

Zoraya lips, usually set in a perfectly polite smile, curled into a chilling smirk. "Did you really think… we'd just let you walk away, My dear? After all the trouble we went to?"

"What are you talking about?" Olivia asked, though her voice lacked conviction. The pieces were locking into place, forming a horrifying painting. Zoraya. Natasha. Morris. It was all a family conspiracy.

"Oh, Olivia" she sighed, a sound of mock sympathy. "Still so naive. Always were. Morris told us you were easily led, but I confess, your blind devotion exceeded even our expectations." Her gaze swept over Olivia. "Such a pity you had to find out the truth this way. Though, it was inevitable."

Raymond took a step towards her, his presence a palpable threat. Olivia every instinct screamed to run, but where? They hadher cornered.

"Your father," Zoraya continued, her voice dropping to a deceptively gentle tone. "He’s... Unwell. Unable to manage his affairs, you understand. A shame, really. His old-fashioned ideas were quite a hindrance to progress. But with Morris at the helm, and Natasha by his side, Edward Industries will truly flourish."

The casual cruelty of her words sliced deeper than any blade. Olivia father. They had done something to him. He wasn't just him being "Unwell." They had taken everything.

"You monsters," Olivia hissed, a raw, unfamiliar rage beginning to stir within her, hot against the cold fear. "You used me! You destroyed everything!"

“My father had loved you and my step sister also brought you to our family, Why… why are you doing this?” Olivia roar.

Zoraya let out a tinkling laugh, devoid of warmth. "Dramatic, as always. You merely served your purpose. A perfect poppet, unassuming bridge to consolidate power. And now, the bridge is no longer needed." She held out a delicate. "A final toast, perhaps? To your future... or lack thereof."

Olivia felt a hot liquid running from her thighs down to her legs. she stood still before looking down. She panicked immediately she saw blood running down like she had just have a miscarriage.A jolt of pure terror shot through her veins, cold and sharp.

She began to shake. what is happening. what did they do? she questioned herself as tears rushed down from eyes. She felt immense pain inside of her.she clutched her stomach tightly. dizziness crashed over her, pulling her into a murky fog. Her vision blurred. she tried to cough, to fight, but her body was no longer her own. A metallic taste flooded her mouth. Poison. "What did you all did to me" she managed to speak. She crumpled to the floor, her strength rapidly draining.

Natasha walked over to the table and picked up a glass cup which Olivia had previously drank. A triumphant grin slowly spread across her lips. "Oh! This" she dangled the content inside the cup."I missed Arsenic with your drink which will make you die a slow painful death" She spat. pouring the remaining drink on Olivia face. A delivlish laughter tore out of their lips. a laugh of victory. "You always had everything, Olivia ," she hissed, her voice venomous, "and you never deserved any of it! Now, it's mine! Everything your perfect husband Morris , and now the new heiress to the Edward legacy.Good bye, little miss perfect Olivia” Natasha hissed and threw the glass cup to the floor, it all shattered, shepicked up a piece of it, Squat to the floor and Stabbed it on Olivia stomach.

Olivia cried out in pain but Natasha didn’t stop until Morris told her to."You are lucky.if not i would have torn you in pieces" she cleaned her blood stain hands before spitting on Olivia face.

The pain was excruciating, absolute, consuming. She couldn't get the chance to experience motherhood. They have taken everything her love, her future, her life and now they have taken her last breath.

Her eyes, locked onto Natasha and Zoraya in the last second. “ I will find you!” shd roared, in her head with a dying promise, “And I will make you all pay!” the chilling laughter of her stepsister and stepmother echoing in my ears. The pain she felt in her bloody body wasn't compared to the betrayal that ripped through her soul. In that moment, profound emptiness. The child she had carried, her little joy for hope is gone. “They will pay.”

her vision blurring with tears as she gasped in pain. She shut her eyes, tears streaming down her face as she was slipping into darkness, her strength fading fast. Her breathing grew labored, and she knew The Next thing. HER DEATH.

SYNOPSIS

"'I want to feel your hands all over me,' Lian whispers, his voice filled with desire.

"'Where do you want me to touch you?' Cheng asks, his fingers tracing the curve of Lian's neck.

"'Everywhere,' Lian replies, his eyes locked on Cheng's. 'I want you to claim me, to make me yours.'

When his twin sister Mei dies, their family forces her identical twin brother to take her place as the bride of media boss Cheng. Trapped in a web of secrets and lies, can he conceal his true identity?

CHAPTER ONE

* * * * * * * * THE VINCE MANSION * * * * *

Lian's scream echoed through the mansion as he stumbled upon his sister Mei's lifeless body. The silence that followed was only broken by the sound of his own ragged breathing.

"Mei, no... please wake up! Open your eyes it's me lian" Lian's desperate cry shook his entire house. He was holding the limp form of his sister whose body was already cold and looked pale. She was identical to him. The only difference was that her hair was longer and she was dressed in a feminine clothes.

His parents rushed into the room, their faces frozen in horror. "Mei! Oh God, no!" his mother wailed, collapsing beside Mei's body checking her pulse.

Her eyes widened in horror because she could feel a single pulse on her.

Lian's father stood paralyzed, his eyes fixed on Mei's lifeless form. "This can't be happening," he whispered, his voice trembling.

Lian clutched his mom, Mrs Vince, tears streaming down their faces, As they watched the guards take away mei body.

Lian felt numb, his mind reeling from what just happened. He couldn't process the devastating reality. Mei was gone.

As the silence continued, Lian's father suddenly stiffened. "The contract," he whispered, his eyes wide with fear. "What are we going to do?"

Lian's heart skipped a beat. What contract? And why did it matter now, when Mei was gone?

Lian's mother turned to his father, her eyes wild with panic. "We can't tell Cheng about this," she whispered urgently. "What do we do?“ Mrs Vince asked in panic. But her husband wasn't even looking at her so she traced his eyes to where he was looking.

“Honey, we have a serious issue. Why are you staring at Lian that way?“ she asked in anger.

“We have to find a way to... to replace Mei,"Mr Vince said.

“But how?“ Mrs Vince said just then her eyes widen in shock as realisation dawned on her.

Lian's mind was filled with so many thoughts. Replace Mei? Why?How could they even suggest such a thing, what's the contract all about?

His father's eyes locked onto his. "Lian, you're Mei's twin," he said, his voice low and even. "You're the only one who can take her place."

Lian felt a chill run down his spine. Take Mei's place? What did that even mean?

"But... but shouldn't Mei be taken to the hospital there is a possibility she is still alive?" Lian asked, his voice shaking.

His father's expression turned cold and hard. "It's too late for that, Lian," he said. "Mei is gone. And we need to focus on damages ahead."

Lian's mother nodded, her eyes brimming with tears. "We'll take care of the... arrangements," she said. "But for now, let's just get through this before tomorrow."

“We have no choice but for you to take her place .“ lian's father said with no single emotion in his face.

Lian's heart sank in from the words of his father.

His mind raced as he tried to process what was happening. His sister was dead, and his parents were talking about replacing her like she was some kind of interchangeable object.

"What do you mean, 'take her place'?" Lian demanded, his voice shaking with anger and fear.

His father's expression turned cold and hard. "You'll find out soon enough," he said. "For now, just remember that you owe us. We've given you everything, and now it's time for you to repay us."

Lian felt a chill run down his spine. What did his father mean? He is just making his mind more messed up.

Before he could ask any questions, his mother stepped forward. "Lian, come with me," she said, her voice soft but firm.

Lian hesitated, unsure of whether to follow her. But his mother's expression gave no room for argument. He reluctantly followed her out of the room, leaving his father.

As they walked, Lian's mother's silence was oppressive. Lian couldn't shake the feeling that something was terribly wrong.

They finally arrived at the garden.

"Sit down, Lian," his mother said, her voice softly.

Lian hesitated, but his mother's expression brooked no argument. He sat down, his heart racing with anticipation.

“I don't know how you will handle this, but this is the truth, i wanted to tell you and mei on your next birthday but I've already told mei before it 's just you i haven't told yet.“

“You see, Lian, you and mei were never my children. Mrs Vince started with a warm tone.

“wh…what does mom mean?“ lian asked in a panic voice.

“You and your sister were abandoned and your parents were nowhere to be found, so I and your father decided to take the both of you home and take care of you like our own children,” Mrs Vince continued.

Lian just sat there staring at her in disbelief, he opened his mouth to speak but the words seemed stuck in his throat.

“Your father took a big loan from cheng and in return Mei has to marry him but now Mei is dead you have to replace her.“ she continued.

lian thoughts were clouded as he tried to process every word he just heard. “So this is why mei killed herself, mom how could you do this?“ Lian asked as tears dropped falling from his eyes.

“Your father's company is going bankrupt and if we don't pay, you wouldn't want all of us dead would you?“ Mrs Vince asked as she stared right into Lian's eyes.

“No mom, I wouldn't, but isn't there another way?“ lian asked with a little hope in his eyes.

“No lian, there is no other way.“ “You look exactly like your sister so Cheng won't notice anything. You have to replace her or we will all be dead.“ mrs vince said.

“The engagement is tomorrow.“ Mrs Vince said in a low tone.

“What!!!“ Lian screamed as he stood up.“How could it be tomorrow, mom??“

“I can't do this.“ lian said.

“You have to lian or else we would b dead. after all Cheng doesn't know mei has a twin.“

“But what if he finds out I'm not mei, What if he finds out I'm a boy, he would kill me wouldn't he mom?“ lian asked in panic as stared at his mom worriedly.

“You don't have to worry about that, I can reassure you that he won't find out.“

“You should go to your room and have more sleep, it's late.“ Mrs Vince said already tired of answering his questions.

THE NEXT DAY

Lian stared at his reflection, horrified. His mother had just finished styling his hair and applying makeup, transforming him into a perfect replica of his sister Mei. This was the day he was going to be his engagement with his unknown fiance and he will live there forever with him.

"I look exactly like Me?" Lian whispered, his voice trembling.

His mother's expression was unyielding. "You'll make a perfect substitute, you must alway make the voice light like that of a female." she said. "Cheng will never know the difference."

Lian felt a wave of nausea wash over him. This was insane. He couldn't just pretend to be Mei Forever.

"Let's go," she said, holding him as they walked out of the room.

Lian stumbled after her, his heart racing.

As they reached the entrance hall, Lian saw a limousine waiting outside. His mother pulled him toward the door.

The door opened and Liam's father was already seated.

“What took you so long?“ he asked, his face visibly angry. Neither of them replied to him.

"Get in," she said. "Your fiance is waiting."

Lian's blood ran cold. Their words fiance made him feel like puking.

As Lian hesitated, his mother's grip on his arm tightened. "Don't disobey us, Lian," she hissed. "Get in the car."

Lian felt a surge of fear. He didn't want any of this. But his parents' determination was clear.

With a sense of resignation, Lian climbed into the limousine. His mother followed, settling into the seat opposite him where his father was.

As the car pulled away from the curb, Lian caught a glimpse of his father's mansion receding into the distance. He felt a pang of sadness. Would he ever see his home again?

The journey was silent and tense. Lian's mother stared out the window, her expression unreadable. Lian tried to break the silence, but she ignored him.

As the hours passed, Lian's anxiety grew. What would Cheng look like? Would he discover his true identity?
