Have you ever wondered why Ponmile is Reminsce biggest hit, or why Father Father is Phynos biggest hit and why Chairman is MI's biggest selling album. It is not a myth it is fact and the answer is that it is market driven.

Let us dive into a little bit of economics. I mean market equilibrium, Demand and supply to be precise

In any market , there has to be demand first of all or lets say you have to work hard to create a demand for your products. When there is demand for your products you push supplies in other for equilibrium to occur. When demand does not equal supply then value/prices go down until in a worst case scenario becomes free of charge.

Music first and foremost is a business . An artist pays money to record a song , make photo arts , mix and master and probably shoot videos, promotions and distribution . This runs into hundreds of thousands for just one song. Therefore before you hear one song any where in the world bear it in mind that the artist is already at a loss or in debt because he has paid out money to get his music to you and is hoping to make that money back

Let us assume you made a rap song, Considering the market in Nigeria, what is the probability that the artist will get continuously played on radio, what is the probability that the Nigerian masses will respond to it, what is the probability that based on that song you put out you will get people to engage with you or offer u gigs , shows, party and deals. The answer is less than 5 percent probability for rap songs in today's market. If the artist continues to repeat this process he lands himself in the worst case scenario i had talked about in the beginning where he becomes desperate and his services become almost free of charge just to get by.

That is why we have a bunch of rappers who are in debt and can not even cater for their personal lives . Do you expect such people to keep digging at a hole where there seems to be no hope for water? . No

The average Nigerian [Yorubaman, Igboman] is hard wired to love Highlife , Fuji , Afrobeat .. that is our sound, that is what people naturally respond to. It is nobodies fault, it is not my mums fault that when she hears Onyeka Onwenu she starts dancing , asking for her number to invite her to perform at a wedding but when she hears my rap she tells me to turn off that noise. It is not her fault she is my mum ,loves everything i do but unfortunately by default will consider my raps noise and not suitable for her parties .

Even Mi Abaga went super commercial and Highlife to find commercial success [money]. He is choc city CEO and is using this new single to stir up controversy for his new project that's all . The market is not healthy for a rapper at this point in time but can be nurtured with fusions of Highlife , Afrobeat and rap so that rap music can win a few crossover fans. This is just facts and hard reality.

My name is Mazi Ifeanyichukwu , i am a Native of Ahaba ukwu in Ikwuano local Government Area in Abia state. I would like us o discuss something really important . Let me start with this logical statement . If you have ever considered Mandela a great leader then you must also consider leaders like Ojukwu and Nnamdi Kanu as failed leaders who are mostly driven by greed and their hunger for power and not what is beneficial to their people.

In the face of segregation, Killing of it's people, economic and political inequality and 27 years in prison e.t.c Mandela had the option of leading the Marginalized part of south Africa to war, but instead of that he chose peace. He did so not because the people were not at boiling point ready for war but because he was intelligent enough not to drive his people into large scale slaughter but through a patient path that has led to the exponential growth of south Africa in all ramifications .

Ojukwu on the other hand, filled with pomposity and pride, even when Igbos were the dominant tribe in terms of Education , Jobs , and other opportunities became the Engine oil for the Igbo political decline. Even when he knew that the Igbos were poorly equipped to fight a war , he led the East to an unprecedented defeat . Over one million Igbo men , women and children people lost their lives and the Igbos lost relevance and impetus in the equation of who is who in Nigeria. Young men and women that could have changed the world in one way shape or form sentenced to genocide because of one mans unwise decision . so where are we today?

Today, we are faced with another of such decision and many people are blindly being led by Nnamdi Kanu . This power hungry individual who does not have any plan for his Biafra is leading people to believe that a secession is the solution to the Igbo problem . It is true that their is an imbalance in power between the tribes in Nigeria and most ethnicity believe they deserve a louder voice and representation . I agree.

It is my opinion that , the Igbo people can remain in Nigeria and slowly crawl back to political reckoning . We have come a long way since the mistakes of the Biafra war, and in a few years , with seasoned and astute politicians the Igbos can get into critical positions and change legislature that will shift the balance of power to a more equilibrial state. Why do you have to evacuate your country , or your base because you are afraid to compete politically with the Northerners after all against all odds the East has take Economic power through Trading and commerce.

Yes, the Northerners have power in today's Nigeria but in reality you have to take that power from them in a planned political resurgence and not by fighting or running away. The Northerners have not always been our problem, Igbo men who have had the opportunity to fill up relevant offices in government have not been able to create opportunities and legislature that will benefit the growth of the clan politically. What we have had are people that end up forgetting the reason they are there as soon as they have access to public office. The political scene in Abia , Anambra , Ebonyi, Imo e.t.c are not different from that in other parts of Nigeria . It is filled with corruption, bad decisions, lack of transparency e.t.c so how is the young Biafra going to survive since these same people will hold key political offices .

Ojukwu's actions though filled with passion and youthful exuberance should be seen as a mistake and a set back rather than as an accomplishment. At that time he could have ordered the igbos to stand and fight for their rights in Nigeria . No body can chase you out of any part of your country Nigeria . We will defend our selves blood for blood inside this same Nigeria. Declaring a sovereign state was just his political agenda given that he also wanted more power as he was the governor of the eastern region and he most likely envied the position of governing a whole country.

My advise is for the youths in Igbo land to disregard Nnamdi Kanu's call for secession but embrace a call for a proper political plan to preposition the igbo man to a place he feels relevant. it is all competition and we should not be afraid to compete.

PLAY YOUR POSITION

Positioning is one of the most important aspects of football.. Sometimes the reason why a coach would prefer a Busquet over a yaya Toure, or a mikel over a more fancy player may just be that the player is able to pick up great position all through the game in accordance to the coaches instructions. We as fans do not see this things as only the coaches see how an out of position fancy player affects the shape of the team throughout a game. How a lazy ozil Aguero cannot take up positions as quickly enough as a Jesus Gabriel. It is not just about fancy play and ball control.

The reason why African countries have not advanced in football at the world cup is because we see football as a natural gift of dribbling, goals and ball control (as an art form) not as a science of positions and strategic movements like chess. Tactical awareness is what we lack and hence the need for foreign coaches.

The need to maintain your shape and position is as important as the need to score a goal.. When a player decides to make an overlapping run , he needs to understand that he will sprint twice as hard to get back to position to retain the shape of the team. This is where players like Ozil , Yaya toure of old, Aguero e.t.c have been faulted in the past. Coaches are constantly on the side lines yelling and reminding players on their positions and where they need to be at at every instant of play. You better have the awareness , energy and intelligence to follow those screams or find your self on the bench in subsequent games. "it is like calculus".

As fans, there is a need to understand that football is not just for entertainment but it is also a job. A coach gives you a specific position/shape and instruction during the game and you need to see to it that those instructions are carried out in the game weather or not you think it is the best idea. You as a soccer player is an employee while the club/coach is the employer.

Young Leaders i want to draw your attention to something that is very important to the continuous growth and existence of our beloved country Nigeria. We all have agreed that the past and present crop of politicians have ruined the economy , reputation, and tarnished the image of our beloved country Nigeria. But the truth is, they did not do it without our help. As young people, we are also a part of the blame and we must accept that we have not contributed our quota to the success of Nigeria. We have failed our country in so may ways. We have failed to grow from youths and observers to active partakers and contributors. We have failed to understand our role as a pressure group and failed to assume the position of a filling station or an energy source to refuel the empty vacuums that need to be filled in government offices and arms . We do not appreciate the enormous power we have to drive change, thinker new policies , and drive economic growth.

There are many issues i want to bring to light but it will take several posts, seminars , symposiums to drive it into the heads of the majority of Nigerian youths. Let me start with the Role of the Nigerian youth in the electioneering process and why we keep failing.

In 2019 , Nigerians will take to the poles to elect a new president. We should not wait for the last moments to get involved in this process. We should start asking Who r those that will be running for elections in 2019. We should start looking at their track record in past governments and other agencies (Private and public sectors). We should start researching credible young people who have been in the forefront of good governance, innovations , and Entrepreneurship. We should identify good administrators in the past decade and ask them to run for government. Young people should decide what platforms they want to represent and be given a chance and platforms to explain why. What we want are good, brilliant, and vibrant individuals that will represent Nigeria in all facets of Government.

All this while we have been voting for political parties and political reasons. But let us take a minute to answer these questions.

What is buhari's policy on immigration and our boarders?

How does this government intend to create millions of Jobs?

How did Goodluck or how does Buhari plan to de-congest our cities?

What was Goodluck's policy on policing and internal security?

What was Goodluck's policy on boarder control?

How does government intend to re structure Primary , secondary and University Education?

Who can propose policies that strengthens ethnicity and fosters unity

What are their vision in health care for all Nigerians. How will every Nigerian have access to good health care regardless of status?

All our presidents have been a disgrace to the intelligence of the Nigerian people. The only things we seem to care about in Nigeria is the value of the Naira, food and energy (gas, petrol, kerosine, electricity) . And that is all that is discussed during elections. "I will give you food "."i will give you light".

We do not even seem to want to find out how these promises will be met. What are the action plans in details and who has the best feasible plan?

How do we control our population?

How do we compete/advance in technology. Nuclear, renewable energy, solar e.t.c

How do we create an enabling environment for the production of Nigerian made products that will meet very high standards?

How do we account for every citizen of Nigeria?

How do we enact laws that help unity?

How do we support struggling families through government intervention?

How do we support research and science and remove the relevance of religion. Seperate church and state?

How do u increase internal security and intelligence and stop things like lynching?

What laws could be made for foreign policies ?

What should Nigeria be bargaining for in New trade deals?

How do we re structure the petroleum sector?

How are voters count going to be improved using new Technology

How do we remove favoritism and nepotism in government and enact laws to facilitate that.

THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WE NEED TO PUT FORWARD IN 2019 AND LOOK FOR THOSE WITH WELL SORT OUT / PROVEN ANSWERS

What politically minded youth of taday chooses to discuss baffles me. APC or PDP is a stupid argument i am sorry to say . We should start looking for brilliant individuals rather than wasting our time on these political parties. This will drive individual political parties to seek out clear , competent and credible individuals to fill up electoral positions. We should understand that as electorates we care about people with ideas to change our lives for the better rather than being used as tools for the unruly politician to push their evil agenda. Let us learn from the American people that voted for Strict boarder control , More jobs for Americans by lowering co-operate taxes, immigration reforms, pro - life , and a friendly foreign policy. Let us as Nigerians focus on who would answer our questions and fix our country. Let us as young leaders listen attentively to debates, research past records and ultimately hold elected officials accountable if they do not accomplish their promises within a given time frame.

Holding them accountable means kicking them out every 4 years through the same peaceful election process if there is no progress
