Instead of turning our waterways into sites for indiscriminate dredging and sand mining, which can damage our lands and environment, we should be thinking about how to turn these natural assets into economic opportunities that will benefit generations to come.

Imagine transforming a suitable Etim Ekpo waterfront into an artificial beach and tourism destination, designed around our natural environment.

People travel from different parts of Nigeria to Ibeno to experience the beach life in Akwa Ibom.

Now imagine having a carefully planned version of that experience in Etim Ekpo, complemented by:
1. An artificial beach
2. Resort and hotel facilities
3. Event and entertainment centers
4. Boat rides and water recreation
5. Swimming pools
6. A mini market for locally produced farm products, food and crafts
7. Cultural and recreational activities
8. Beautiful, serene spaces for relaxation and family outings

This is how we begin to move from extracting value from our land to creating value from our environment. DON’T SELL YOUR FUTURE FOR ONE DAY’S PORRIDGE

Esau gave up his birthright for one meal and, in doing so, lost something far more valuable than what he received in that moment.

That is the lesson we must learn.

Do not allow the money you may receive at the polling unit on election day to make you sacrifice the future of your children and generations yet unborn.

One thing we must understand is that, no matter where we find ourselves in life, if we refuse to take responsibility, we cannot create meaningful change.

The future of our federal constituency is not somebody else’s responsibility. It is ours.
We must look beyond today’s gratification and make decisions that will create jobs, strengthen businesses, empower our young people, improve infrastructure and open our communities to greater opportunities.

When the time comes, ask yourself:
What kind of constituency do I want to hand over to the next generation?
Then make a decision that your children will thank you for.

Don’t sell your birthright for a plate of porridge. Choose a prosperous future.

Our people should not only hear from their representative during elections.

They should feel their representative throughout the four years.

Representation must go beyond motions, bills, ceremonies and political appearances.

It must translate into opportunities, legislation, advocacy, infrastructure, education, skills, jobs, enterprise development and access to government programmes.

I believe the Federal House of Representatives should be used as a platform to bring federal opportunities closer to our people and to create strategic partnerships that can transform our constituency.

That is the kind of representation I am offering.

One Year of Changing the Narrative

Today, we celebrate one year of the Abraham Honourable Political Movement (AHPM) one year of a journey dedicated to changing the narrative of politics in our nation, beginning from Akwa Ibom State.

In just one year, AHPM has carried out impactful programmes focused on voter education, political awareness, civic participation and leadership sensitisation, receiving attention beyond our immediate communities.

From the One Million PVC and Voter Participation March across Ika and Etim Ekpo Local Government Areas, to our series of virtual seminars exposing young people to the tenets of leadership, democracy, citizenship and responsible political participation, we have remained committed to building a movement that is driven by ideas, knowledge and service.

We are deeply hopeful about the years ahead. Our ambition is not merely to continue speaking about lofty ideas, but to establish a practical political presence where the values and principles we preach can become visible and measurable across Akwa Ibom State.

Today, we celebrate the journey. Tomorrow, we continue the work.

To mark this first anniversary, we will be giving out 100 AHPM face caps 🧢 to members who do not yet have one, while also selectively appreciating members whose commitment and dedication to the movement have remained exceptional.

The Mandate Must Be Intentional

The mandate is not something we allow emotions to drive. It is a responsibility that requires intentionality, discernment, and a clear commitment to seeing the people’s aspirations fulfilled to their fullest potential.

The mandate of Abak Federal Constituency was never meant to be saddled with empty promises. What we need is leadership we can measure leadership whose impact can be seen, felt, and accounted for not another trial and error experiment that keeps taking us back to the same mistakes.

If we continue making the same political choices, by the time we become willing to correct our mistakes, other constituencies may have moved far ahead of us. And by then, it may no longer be our generation that has the opportunity to fix the problems we failed to confront today.

We need a servant leader with a heart of gold; someone whose antecedents go beyond showing up when political season arrives. We need someone whose commitment to the people is consistent, whether there is an election or not.

I keep encouraging our people to ask every candidate simple but important questions:
What have you done for the people before now?What do you intend to do differently from what is already on the ground? What evidence do you have that you can deliver what you are promising?

Because leadership should not be judged by beautiful speeches alone. Track record matters. Character matters. Humanity matters. Consistency matters.

If a candidate's track record cannot be connected to genuine service and humanity, there is a strong possibility that the same errors we have experienced in the past may simply be repeated.

Today, we are not merely presenting a product called Dr. Abel Abraham
We are presenting a refined leadership proposition; tested through years of service, community engagement, capacity building, empowerment, professional responsibility, and a demonstrated commitment to people.

This is not about trying another person and hoping for a different outcome.

It is about making an intentional choice for measurable leadership.
Abak Federal Constituency deserves leadership that works. Abak Federal Constituency deserves leadership we can measure. Abak Federal Constituency deserves a leader who is prepared before the mandate arrives.
