Epe Council of - Baales Induct High Chief Kazeem Abiodun Anwoju ,Baale Iraye Ebute, in Epe Local Government.

The Council of - Baales in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State led by Baale, High Chief Aramada Idowu Adebanjo has described the excellent performance of the Hon Surah Animasahun led government of Epe Local government, to the significant role, which traditional institution plays in the development of the council area.

Speaking at the induction ceremony of the Baale of Iraye Ebute,in Epe Local Government,High Chief Kazeem Anwoju today, High Chief Baale Aramada Idowu Adebanjo (Bale, Ilamija Kekere also Chairman, Yeguda Bale Zone and Chairman Association of Bale Epe Division), and High Chief Ajumoko Taiwo(Bale, Olorun Duro Emina, Chairman Bale in Councils of Epe Division) harped on the need for full cooperation of the people of Iraye Ebute, with the council area towards developing the town in particular and the local council area in general.

They urged the newly crowned Baale Kazeem Anwoju to join hands with other Baales, in Epe Council of Baales to continue the good work of the council and to contribute effectively to debates and decisions to promote the culture and welfare of the entire people of Iraye Ebute.

They further charged the newly installed Baale Iraye Ebute to use his wealth of experience to bring together the people of his community and Iraye Ebute kingdom at large.

Baale Kazeem Anwoju in his response thanked the Epe-Council of Baales and the entire people of Iraiye for the trust and confidence reposed in him, to install him as the first baale of Iraye Ebute, in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.

He also thanked the authority of the Local Council Development Area, particularly the State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for the consideration and approval of his selection as the first Baale of the ancient community.

He promised to do his best to promote unity, peace and love among diverse ethnic groups in the entire Iraye Ebute Kingdom, for the overall development of the people.

Commenting on the installation of Baale Kazeem Anwoju, a prominent politician in the area, Hon. Sh*ttu Fatai popularly called (of-Iraiye) described Baale Anwoju as a father-figure, a truly distinguished Nigerian whose footprint across the local council area and Lagos state as a whole remain indelible.

Hon. Fatai said Baale Kazeem Anwoju consistent mentorship and his uncommon generosity with which he relates with the people, especially at every pivotal moment is unquantifiable, praying Almighty God to guide, direct and lead him in the day to day ruling of his people.

Also commenting, the Ikeji-Ilu of Iraye Ebute Chief Bola Murtala noted that the selection and installation of Baale Kazeem Anwoju as the first Baale of Iraye Ebute was a good thing to happen to the over 200 years old community in Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State.

The Ikeji-Ilu described Baale Kazeem Anwoju as a consummate gentleman, and an unwavering patriot whose life is a master class in purpose, impact and integrity.

He prayed for sustainable development in Iraye Ebute in particular and the entire Iraiye in general during his reign.

OLOWA SWEARS-IN ELECTED COUNCILLORS, URGES ALL-INCLUSIVE GOVERNANCE

The re-elected chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State Hon. Engr. Sesan Abdullahi Olowa has urged newly elected councillors and other political office holders to be ambassadors of all -inclusive government being championed and demonstrated at the local government level in the last four years.

He said that the elected councillors and other political heads in the local government must identify with the culture of good governance already exemplified by his administration where adequate attention is been paid to the needs of the people at the grassroots.

Olowa gave the charge yesterday during the swearing-in ceremony of the elected councillors for the local government at the secretariat, Igando-Oloja.

The chairman tasked the councilors to live above board by ensuring the delivery of the dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

Olowa while performing the ceremony, praised the people of the local government for their overwhelming support and steadfastness to his administration in the last four years, which he added contributed meaningfully to his success at the poll.

It was a moment of tears of joy at the occasion as the traditional rulers and other dignitaries showered encomium on Olowa's mother, just as she was sprayed with bundles of naira notes in appreciation of the good work and legacies of his son who was re-elected to administer the local government for another four years.

The swearing-in ceremony was witnessed by eminent personalities within and outside Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Political office holders, Royal Fathers, Baales, friends and well wishers who came in their hundreds to grace the occasion.

Meanwhile, Hon. Bayo Balogun, Honourable Member, Federal House of Representatives and Chairman, Electoral Matters has described the re-election of Hon Engr.Sesan Olowa for another four-year term as good thing to happen to Ibeju – Lekki. He said his last fours years had been very eventful, impactful, vibrant and visionary, stressing that his impressive leadership had ushered in unprecedented development and peace to the local government.

In his own message, Hon. Mojeed Fatai Adebola, Honorable Member and Chief whip of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I said Hon. Olowa purposeful leadership in the local government has continue to bring more development, unity, and harmony among diverse ethnic groups resident in the council areas.

Hon.Oladele Ajayi, Honourable Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency II said Hon.Olowa marked the beginning of new era of real progress in Ibeju-Lekki being conferred as the Chairman of the Conference 57 in Lagos State and invariably underscores the need to direct the searchlight on the new helsman to ascertain the thrust of his administration as he has done in the last four years.

Chief Executive Officer, Harmony Gardens Estate and Development Property Hon. Abdullahi Mosadoluwa expressed his unflinching support and commitment to the administration of Hon. Engr. Sesan Olowa in the day to day administration of the local government, describing his election at the just concluded local government election as monumental, for the development of the area to a greater height.

The Arewa community residents in the local government area in their felicitation described Hon.Olowa as an indefatigable chairman of chairmen whose leadership quality remain unquantifiable going by his good work he has achieved in the local government.

Celebrated politician and Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state on Mineral Resources, Hon (Engr.) Abiola Okanlawon Olowu today added another year to his blissful years on earth.

OKL (as the celebrant is fondly called) could not hide his emotions about his big day which is filled with much joy as glowing tributes rained on him from his superiors, family members, friends and very important personalities including politicians across the state.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also warmly shared in the joy of the celebration, when he described the seasoned politician and astute engineer as a force to reckon with not only in Ibeju-Lekki politics but Lagos state as a whole.

Olowu urges full participation in Lagos LG Polls.

Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on Mineral Resources, Hon. (Engr.) Abiola Okanlawon Olowu has called on the people of Lagos State, particularly the eligible voters to come out en-masse and vote candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the July 12, 2025, local government election in the state.

Olowu said the call became necessary in view of the crucial role local governance plays in the development of any nation and local government as a critical facilitator in the state and national development.

He said full participation of the electorates in local government election contribute largely to national development because of the belief that the grassroots is the most critical part of the country where people can easily feel the presence of government.

The special adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Mineral Resources explained that for the APC to consolidate on the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the grassroots level, it beholds on the electorate to come out and vote en-masse for all the party candidates in the council polls. He noted that the local government level is not only the closest government to the people but possesses the capacity to be more impactful in fulfilling the wishes and aspirations of the people at the grassroots.

Olowu urged individuals to strive to leave enduring legacies through positive impact in the election, assuring that all the APC candidates are equal to the task of delivering the good dividends of democracy to their door-steps if voted to govern at the grassroots.
