"SMA Governorship Dream May Be Consumed If........"
— Prince S. Mawutin Ofade

The political atmosphere in Lagos is heating up with the resounding echoes of “Ambode Again 2027” spreading like wildfire across the state — and particularly in Badagry Division.

But why does the chant seem louder in Badagry? Could it be because of the neglect of certain politicians and stakeholders who once championed the “Badagry for Governor” cause? Or is it the one-sided, non-inclusive approach that has weakened the collective strength of the Division’s agitation?

Speaking on the matter, Prince S. Mawutin Ofade warned that Badagry’s long-held dream of producing a governor in Lagos may be consumed if unity is not achieved.

“The division of interest within Badagry Division might destroy our chances. Some are pushing for Governor, others for Deputy Governor, Senate, or other high-ranking offices at LAHA. This disunity could become an instrument against our dream,” he said.

Prince Ofade emphasized that presenting a united front with one powerful voice remains the only strategy for Badagry to break through in 2027. According to him, all stakeholders, political leaders, and grassroots actors must rally behind one candidate while seeking the blessings of the Lagos “political Oracle” and APC leadership.

He lamented that self-centeredness and neglect by some home-based politicians have worsened Badagry’s position, stressing that failure to consult or interpret the Oracle’s message could further weaken the agitation.

“This emerging Ambode wildfire might consume our dreams if we are divided. I have warned repeatedly — but those who put the cart before the horse scorned me for speaking the bitter truth. The dream of a Badagry Governor lies in the hands of God and the Oracle, but it requires unity and sacrifice,” he added.

Prince Ofade, however, commended Prince Samuel Mauyon Ajose (SMA) for boldly presenting himself to contest the Lagos Governorship seat from Badagry Division.

He prayed that the Oracle would favor SMA’s ambition, insisting that the focus must remain on the bigger picture — the actualization of the Badagry Governorship Dream.

“I stand by the truth and for Badagry interest. I stand by the Oracle and his choice. May SMA’s governorship dream not be consumed,” Prince Ofade concluded.

OLORUNDA CONCORD EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Sunday Special

“Why Lagos Needs Ambode Again in 2027” — Yeye Ronke Ogabi Speaks

In this special edition of Olorunda Concord, we sat with Yeye Ronke Ogabi, a respected community leader, political mobilizer, and grassroots voice in Lagos State. In this engaging conversation, she passionately explains why former Governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode deserves another chance to lead Lagos come 2027.

Olorunda Concord (OC): Yeye Ronke, thank you for joining us. Why do you think Lagos should look in the direction of Akinwunmi Ambode again in 2027?

Yeye Ronke Ogabi (YRO): Thank you. The truth is simple: Ambode remains one of the most visionary leaders Lagos has ever produced. In just four years, he laid down infrastructural projects that people still enjoy today — roads, bridges, housing schemes, security upgrades, and investments in transport. Lagos was breathing with new life during his time. A leader who worked with a clear blueprint should not be forgotten so soon.

OC: Some argue that Lagos has moved on from the Ambode era. What makes you feel he can still be relevant in 2027?

YRO: Leadership is about results. Ambode showed us results. He was not a noise-maker; he was a performer. Look at the Abule Egba flyover, Ajah bridge, Ojodu-Berger, transformation and the network of roads in all the 57 Local councils, other massive road rehabilitation across all local governments. He pushed the economy forward and gave Lagosians a sense of pride. In 2027, we need someone who understands both the grassroots and the bigger picture. Ambode fits that role perfectly.

OC: What do you think separates Ambode from other potential aspirants?

YRO: His compassion. Ambode was close to the people. He invested in free health programs, community schools, and security trust funds. He was not governing for the elite alone; he was governing for every market woman, every student, every okada rider. His style of leadership balanced growth and welfare. Lagos needs that again.

OC: Some critics believe Ambode had political challenges in his first term. How do you think he can overcome them if given another chance?

YRO: Every leader faces challenges. What matters is whether you learn and come back stronger. Ambode has gained wisdom, experience, and patience. Lagosians are wiser too — we can now separate propaganda from performance. If the people truly speak with one voice, no political force can silence their will.

OC: If you had the chance to speak directly to Lagosians ahead of 2027, what would your message be?

YRO: My message is clear: Let us not allow sentiment or politics of interest to rob Lagos of quality leadership. Ambode is tested, trusted, and prepared. 2027 is our opportunity to return a man who truly knows how to govern this great state. Lagos deserves a performer, not a placeholder.

OC: Finally, Yeye Ronke, what is your call to action?

YRO: My call is to Lagosians — especially the youths and women. Let us organize, mobilize, and demand Ambode’s return. Let us remind ourselves of what true leadership looks like. History will judge us if we fold our hands and allow Lagos to miss this chance again.

Conclusion

The voice of Yeye Ronke Ogabi echoes a larger sentiment growing among Lagosians: a call for proven leadership and visible development. Whether this momentum translates into political reality by 2027 remains to be seen, but one thing is certain — the Ambode conversation has returned to the center of Lagos politics.
