MY STORY š
I want to share something very personal. Itās not easy, but I believe someone out there needs to hear this.
I got married to the man I loved with all my heart. I was faithful. I gave him everything. I believed in our love. I never thought he would ever hurt me.
But along the way, things started to change.
He stopped caring. He stayed out late. He became distant. I didnāt know he was cheating on me. I just kept praying and hoping things would get better.
Then, I started falling sick often. I was always tired. I didnāt understand what was happening to me. After many hospital visits, the doctor finally told me to do an HIV test.
I was shocked. I didnāt understand why I needed it. But I did the test.
When the result came out, I tested positive.
I broke down.
I cried for days. I couldnāt breathe. I was confused. I asked myself how? Why? I had only been with one man ā my husband.
I confronted him. At first, he lied. But later, he told me the truth.
He had been living with HIV for a long time⦠and he never told me. He kept sleeping with me without protection. He kept quiet and watched me suffer, even when he knew the truth.
That pain, I canāt explain it.
The betrayal. The lies. The silence.
But I didnāt let it destroy me. I picked myself up. I started my treatment. I took care of my health. I told myself, āHIV will not define me.ā
Today, I am stronger. I am wiser. I am more careful.
If youāre reading this, please learn from my story. Donāt love blindly. Ask questions. Protect your health. Get tested. Donāt ignore the signs.
To every man: Be honest. Donāt destroy the woman who loves you.
I went through the fire⦠but I didnāt burn. God kept me. And Iām still standing. šš
