Last season, in a similar situation against Barcelona, no penalty was given because the hand was behind the body there wasn’t even a card shown. But in today’s match between Real Madrid and Manchester City, a very similar incident results in a penalty, and even a red card is given. How can football be so inconsistent, where decisions seem to favor one side?

After all this, Vinícius Jr. celebrates with a “crying” gesture towards the City fans. A young Manchester City girl, watching all of this, had tears in her eyes unable to accept the injustice happening right in front of her.

Sometimes, football really feels unfair. ⚽❤️‍🩹

Fela Kuti is the Most Persecuted Musician in History. He was arrested over 200 times, and appeared in court 356 times for mostly criticising the Nigerian Government.

1,000 soldiers attacked his property in 1977.

He performed on stage in bandages, even after being assaulted.

His commune “Kalakuta Republic” was burned to the ground (Feb 18, 1977) and residents were assaulted; his mother Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti was thrown from a window and later died from her injuries.

The Shrine was shut down after the 1977 attack (a direct hit on his livelihood + platform).

After the 1977 raid, he responded politically by delivering his mother’s coffin to military barracks and releasing more anti-regime music (showing the intimidation escalated, not reduced).

Jailed under Buhari’s government on “currency smuggling” charges (1984); Amnesty International denounced the case as politically motivated and treated him as a prisoner of conscience.

Spent about 20 months in prison from that 1984 case before being released under Babangida.

Repeated violent raids/destruction of property and recordings are repeatedly referenced in biographical accounts as a method used to disrupt his work.

In the early 1990s, he and band members were arrested and charged in a high-profile case (1993) (illustrating continued criminalization/harassment late into his career).

His political songs directly naming powerful figures (e.g., the “I.T.T.” allegations) intensified state hostility and surveillance around him.

January 20, 1925, Frances Olufunmilayo Thomas (24) married Israel Oludotun Ransome-Kuti (33) in Abeokuta.

The marriage which lasted 30 years produced four children: a daughter named Dolupo (1926) and sons Olikoye "Koye" (1927), Olufela "Fela" (1938), and Bekololari "Beko" (1940).

Fela Kuti's iconic Volkswagen Beetle has become an enduring symbol of resistance and resilience. In 1977, Fela's home was brutally attacked by soldiers, leaving his mother injured and his properties destroyed, including his beloved Volkswagen Beetle.
Rather than repairing the damaged vehicle, Fela chose to drive it in its battered state as a powerful symbol of protest. This decision was a deliberate act of defiance, aimed at keeping the memory of the attack alive and exposing the injustices he and his community endured.

During the "FESTAC '77" festival, Fela explained his decision, stating that the damaged vehicle served as a testament to the brutality of the soldiers who attacked his home. By driving the car to his performances, Fela ensured that the visible scars of the vehicle remained a constant reminder of the resilience and defiance against oppression.

Fela's unyielding spirit and commitment to exposing the truth have made the Volkswagen Beetle an iconic symbol of his resistance. The car has become a mobile testament to the power of protest and the importance of remembering and learning from the past.
