A man was randomly stopped after authorities suspected possible foul play. The NDLEA was called in with their K9 dog to conduct a search.

During the search, the K9 dog detected hard drugs in the car, and the man was immediately arrested.

The Nigerian Police and the NDLEA are working.

P Olugbenga A. Adepoju (Rivers State Commissioner of Police) has been actively stepping out on inspection tours of checkpoints and highways.

Inspection Tour (Monday, June 22, 2026): CP Adepoju led a team on a statewide monitoring exercise along major routes, including the East-West Road corridor (Ikwerre and Emohua LGAs) and areas near the Rivers-Imo boundary.
He was accompanied by senior officers: Deputy CP (State CID), Assistant CP (Operations), Mobile Police Squadron Commanders, tactical unit heads, and Divisional Police Officers (DPOs).
Purpose of the Operation:
• Enforce the Inspector-General of Police (IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu) directive against:
• Unauthorized roadblocks that obstruct traffic.
• Extortion of motorists.
• Officers not properly dressed or without visible name tags.
• Officers must carry out stop-and-search professionally without blocking roads. 
• He personally ordered the dismantling of illegal roadblocks encountered during the tour. Compliance was noted as improving due to ongoing monitoring.
