FRUSTRATION FROM COAL POT "ADOGAN"

Being raised in a place which allows one the opportunity of exploring and learning new things about other people's culture, I thought I wouldn't have difficulty adapting to a new environment with diffrent culture as I thought I have known and explored enough culture but this turned out to be a lie when I had to change environment during my childhood days.

This place happened to be a small town in Oyo State. One of the things I found difficult to cope with is one of their meals which serves as a protein in most of their foods.

I was told the food taste so we'll but I couldn't just bring myself to eating it as my body system I would say couldn't stand the look no matter how appetizing it is.

So on this particular day, I was determined that I was going to eat it no matter what it takes. And finally, I took a bite though with hesitation but I couldn't stop eating as the taste was out of this world.

"Ohh this is what I have been missing!" I thought.

I thought the food was the only thing I would find difficult to adapt too but, "Nah" there were more to come. Their Language!

Yeah! Their Language!

So on this particular day, I was told to go and bring coal pot which is usually call "adogan". I got to where I was told I would find it but unfortunately I couldn't find it not knowing that it was right there staring at me, if only the "adogan" could talk, ha ha!

Funny right? Yeah it was a funny moment and a frustrating one at that. I searched and searched until someone came to my rescue. I couldn't thank the person enough as failure to look for the charcoal pot will warrant some sort of punishment.

After my experience there, I always look forward to learning other people's culture which includes their food and language anytime the opportunity comes up.

MY ANALYSIS ON CARROT RICE AND SMOKY JOLLOF RICE.

Carrot rice is a Nigerian dish eaten majorly by Lagosian who loves exploring different delicacy of rice dishes.

Smoky Jollof rice is also an African dish mostly eaten by Africans. It is commonly tagged as smoky because of its burnt and smoky nature.

So to my Analysis, In terms of taste, I think smoky Jollof rice taste better than carrot rice.

But, in terms of health benefits, I think carrot rice is healthier than jollof rice as it doesn't require much ingredients. Just your veg oil, blended carrot, pepper, garlic, ginger powder and you are good to go. Unlike jollof rice which requires more ingredients.

Also, carrot rice helps to moisturize the skin as carrot is rich in vitamin C.

If you want to have a glowing skin, try carrot rice and thank me later.

If you have always tried Jollof rice, you need to pause and give carrot rice a chance🤗 as the taste is the difference and the difference is the taste.
