🐣 THE DAY THE CHICK SAW WHAT MOTHER SAW
“The day this little chick told his mother, ‘I don’t need you anymore,’ he had no idea that the forest was about to teach him the lesson of a lifetime… 🐣💔”
In a quiet village beside a thick green forest lived a mother hen named Mama Koko and her little chick, Kiki.
Mama Koko loved Kiki more than anything in the world.
Every morning, she would scratch the ground, searching for tiny insects and grains.
Whenever she found food, she would call:
“Kiki! Come and eat!”
But as Kiki grew bigger, something changed.
He began to believe that he no longer needed his mother.
One morning, while Mama Koko was warning him not to wander too far, Kiki rolled his eyes.
“Mama, I'm no longer a baby. Look at me! I can walk, run and find food by myself.”
Mama Koko looked at him quietly.
“My child, growing feathers does not mean you have grown wisdom. There are things your little eyes cannot see yet.”
Kiki laughed.
“What can you possibly see that I cannot see?”
Mama Koko pointed toward the forest.
“I see danger hiding where your eyes see only leaves. I hear footsteps you cannot hear. I smell danger before it comes close.”
Kiki shook his head.
“Mama, you worry too much. Today, I am going to explore the forest alone.”
Before Mama Koko could stop him, Kiki ran away.
At first, Kiki was excited.
He chased butterflies.
He jumped over little stones.
He scratched the ground and found worms.
“See! I told Mama I could survive without her!” he shouted happily.
But suddenly...
CRACK!
A branch broke somewhere behind him.
Kiki froze.
He looked left.
Nothing.
He looked right.
Nothing.
Then he heard a slow rustling sound from the bushes.
Shhhhhhh...
Kiki's heart began beating faster.
He wanted to run, but he didn't know where the danger was coming from.
Then he saw two glowing eyes between the leaves.
A large snake slowly crawled out.
Kiki screamed.
“MAMA!!!”
He ran as fast as his little legs could carry him.
But the snake followed.
Kiki stumbled and fell.
He closed his eyes, certain that his life was over.
Then suddenly...
FLAP! FLAP! FLAP!
Mama Koko flew down from above, attacking the snake with her wings and beak.
“Leave my child alone!”
The snake eventually disappeared into the thick bushes.
Kiki lay trembling on the ground.
Mama Koko rushed toward him.
“Are you hurt?”
Kiki couldn't answer.
He simply buried his face beneath her wings.
After a few moments, Kiki began to cry.
“Mama... I'm sorry.”
Mama Koko gently lifted his head.
“Why are you crying, my child?”
Kiki wiped his tears.
“I thought I had grown bigger than you. I thought I could see everything you could see. But today, I discovered something.”
Mama Koko listened.
Kiki continued:
“I only saw the forest. You saw the danger inside it.
I only saw freedom. You saw the responsibility of keeping me alive.
I thought your warnings were meant to control me... but they were actually meant to protect me.”
Mama Koko pulled him close.
“My child, one day you will become strong enough to protect yourself and even protect others. But never become so big that you become too proud to listen to those who protected you when you were small.”
Kiki nodded through his tears.
From that day forward, he still grew.
He became stronger.
He became wiser.
He eventually learned to find food on his own.
But he never again mistook growing up for knowing everything.
And whenever Mama Koko warned him about danger, Kiki listened carefully.
Because now...
he had finally seen what his mother had been seeing all along.
🌱 MORAL OF THE STORY
Growing older does not mean you know more than those who have walked the road before you.
Sometimes, the person you think is restricting you is actually the person trying hardest to protect you.
Respect your parents while you still have the opportunity to learn from them. ❤️
And remember:
One day, you may become taller than your mother... but you may never become wiser than the experience she gained while protecting you.
