What makes the difference is how effectively those resources are managed.
OSA therefore seeks to encourage a culture where public leadership is measured by ideas, performance, transparency, inclusion, and results.
The movement recognises that the people of Ondo State have different political opinions, backgrounds, professions, communities, and aspirations. Rather than allowing these differences to become barriers, OSA believes they can become sources of strength when citizens unite around common developmental interests.

The Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has been listed among top Federal Government officials scheduled to participate in the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Economic Conference (NIDEC) 2026 holding in Toronto, Canada.

There is a tendency in politics to measure influence by the size of an office, the depth of a treasury, or the constitutional powers attached to a position. But history repeatedly reminds us that political relevance is not always a function of official authority. Sometimes, it is a function of capacity.

Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo presents an interesting case study.

The resources at his disposal do not come close to what an average governor commands. He neither controls the machinery of an entire state nor enjoys the expansive financial leverage that governors naturally possess. Yet, by almost every observable political indicator, he has built an influence that many occupants of higher offices would envy. His grassroots network is formidable, his supporters are remarkably loyal, his political alliances remain resilient, and his visibility continues to transcend the office he occupies.

That does not happen by accident.

Politics is ultimately a game of perception, organization, relationships, and delivery. Those who understand this know that influence is accumulated long before elections are won. It is earned through consistency, strategic thinking, accessibility, and the ability to convert goodwill into enduring political capital.

Perhaps what is even more remarkable is that his journey has not been without resistance. Every politician who rises rapidly inevitably attracts opposition. There have been attempts to diminish his influence, predictions that his relevance would fade, and political battles designed to halt his momentum. Yet, time and again, he has emerged standing. Each challenge that many believed would weaken him has instead become another chapter in the story of his resilience. Every political test has appeared to strengthen, rather than diminish, his standing.

That is often the mark of a politician whose appeal extends beyond transient popularity. True political strength is not demonstrated when the road is smooth; it is revealed when adversity repeatedly fails to stop your progress.

Whether one agrees with every policy or political decision he has made is a different conversation entirely. But even critics would struggle to deny the trajectory. His rise offers an important lesson: offices do not create influence nearly as much as influence can redefine the significance of an office.

Politics rewards those who understand timing. There are moments when a politician is merely participating, moments when they are competing, and moments when history seems to align with their preparation. BTO increasingly appears to belong to that last category, a man whose time has arrived.

Whatever shape the next Ondo State governorship election eventually takes, one thing already seems difficult to dispute, he has written his name into the contemporary political history of Ondo State in solid gold. Elections may determine who occupies Government House, but they do not always determine who leaves the deepest imprint on the political consciousness of a people. On that score, his legacy is already taking shape.

Meet Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo - by Precious Yetunde Olofinyokun PYO (Princess of the BTO Structures).

Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo is a Nigerian engineer, entrepreneur, public administrator, and politician whose career has been marked by innovation, reform, and public service.

Born on 1 May 1982 in Okeagbe/Oyin Akoko, Ondo State, he turned 44 years old in 2026. He currently serves as the Minister of Interior of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, having been appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August 2023.

Educational Background
Tunji-Ojo's attended: FUTA Staff Secondary School, Akure, where he served as Senior Prefect.
He was admitted to Obafemi Awolowo University to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering before transferring to London Metropolitan University (formerly the University of North London), where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering in 2005. He later earned a postgraduate qualification (Master's degree) in Digital Communication and Networking from the same institution in 2006. He also holds several internationally recognized ICT and cybersecurity certifications, including an Ethical Hacker certification.

Professional Career
Before venturing into politics, Tunji-Ojo established himself as a successful entrepreneur and technology consultant. At the age of 24, he founded Matrix IT Solutions Limited, an indigenous ICT consulting firm that provided strategic technology and project management services to public and private sector organizations. His consultancy portfolio included assignments for the World Bank and several Nigerian government institutions.

Legislative Achievements (2019–2023)
As a Member of the House of Representatives, Tunji-Ojo distinguished himself through active legislative oversight and constituency development.
Some notable highlights include:
• Represented the people of Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency in the 9th National Assembly.
• Served as Chairman of the House Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), where he championed transparency, accountability, and improved oversight of the Commission's activities.
• Served on several strategic House Committees, including National Security and Intelligence, Local Content, Gas Resources, Housing, North East Development Commission, Solid Minerals, and Pilgrims Affairs.
• Earned recognition for constituency-focused projects in education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and ICT development.
• Won re-election to the House of Representatives in February 2023 before resigning to accept ministerial appointment.

Since assuming office in August 2023, Tunji-Ojo has spearheaded a number of reforms aimed at modernizing Nigeria's internal security and public service institutions.
Among the reforms widely associated with his tenure are:
• Driving the digital transformation of passport application and processing services to improve efficiency and reduce delays.
• Introducing reforms to enhance border management and strengthen immigration administration.
• Improving personnel welfare across agencies under the Ministry of Interior through accelerated promotion exercises, enhanced career progression, and support for improved pension arrangements.
• Promoting more transparent recruitment and administrative processes across agencies supervised by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).
• Supporting modernization initiatives across the Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Federal Fire Service.
• Emphasizing citizen-focused service delivery through technology-driven reforms and institutional efficiency.
• Championing inter-agency collaboration to strengthen internal security and public safety.
