UDUAK EKPO-UFOT: THE MAN WITH THE WILL & ZEAL TO SPEAK FOR ETINAN PEOPLE
Uduak Ekpo-Ufot is a Technology, Media & Telecommunications Professional with 20 years experience in the Nigerian & Sub Saharan African corporate sector.
Born into the humble family of Late Professor Abel & Deaconess Helen Ekpo-Ufot of Ata Efa in Etinan, he possesses hands on exceptional knowledge and experience of the Nigerian market, having physically worked in almost all the 36 states. Subsequent to this, he was head hunted for his expertise, to oversee operations in countries of West & Sub-Saharan Africa.
After concluding the Senior Secondary School Examination (SSCE) at the Federal Government College (FGC) Ikot Ekpene, he went further to earn a First Degree (Honours) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos. A Microsoft Certified Sales Engineer, active with the Project Management Certification (PMP) between 2007 & 2012, he holds an Executive MBA from the Lagos Business School and an alumnus of the IESE Business School- the graduate business school of the University of Navarra in Spain. An adept lover of IT & Emerging Technologies, Uduak has a Masters in Cybersecurity from the Ethical Hacking Institute.
Starting work fresh out of University with an IT firm, Palette Computers, he spent the next 13 years of his professional career growing in the ranks at Airtel Nigeria; a leading Telecommunications company where he developed core competencies in Innovation, Conceptualization & Implementation of Marketing & Sales Strategies, Business Development, Project & Product Management, Marketing (Product and Customer Life Cycle Management; Acquisition, Usage & Retention; Trade, Field, Experiential, Coverage & Geo-Marketing, Branding, Trade & Consumer Promotions, PR, Media, Events & Sponsorships, Sales Pricing, Channel & Retail Distribution, Customer Service, Planning & Forecasting and Negotiation.
After leaving Airtel Nigeria as Senior Manager, Data Products Acquisition, Usage & Retention, armed with his penchant for value creation and addition, diverse and patiently ingrained skill set, he resumed as Director Business Development for Canadian firm, AirG- leading their Commercial, Technical & Regulatory concerns in the West African region (15 countries). He performed similar duties as Director, Strategic Partnerships for Belgian firm- Maxicaster.
A Deacon in the United Evangelical Church, also known as Qua Iboe Church, he served as Head of The Media Unit, and in the Men of Hope Association, he served as Treasurer, Secretary and currently the Vice President. He also contributed his bit as Vice President, Airtel Nigeria Co-Operative Society and has been active in the FGC Alumni Lagos Chapter- also as Vice President. He is a member of the Society for Corporate Governance, he also agrees wholly with the Four-Way Test as a member of The Rotary Club of Uyo Urban, where moral codes for personal and business relationships are upheld. He is happily married with children and currently serves as the Special Assistant to Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Mr Udom Emmanuel.
Amidst all of these, he founded two Start Ups- WStreams & Secure-IT-Tools, both incorporated and still operating as going concerns for over 10 years and counting. WStreams is involved with Live Streaming of Events, Events Management, Audio/ Video products, Events & PR, Marketing Communications & Activations and Social Media Integration, both companies employ a good number of youths for their operations in Akwa Ibom and Lagos.
One can simply refer to him as a silent achiever & performer, whose numerous acts of kindness he does nicodemously, Uduak Ekpo-Ufot joins the race to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly to represent Etinan State Constituency, motivated by a burning desire to serve his people, create sustenable value & summarily DO GOOD for humanity.
As the 2023 general elections draw near, he has his eyeballs fixed on the Etinan state assembly seat, and gives an assurance of effective representation, with guaranteed, quantifiable short and long term impact, now and for generations to come.
