Holding the government of your country 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 is a serious business, especially if they have not been responsibly effecting and improving the situation and addressing . Hence the need to ensuring there is an implementation of the 𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 (𝗨𝗣𝗥) 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 on human rights.

And this is why the Nigeria Network of NGOs, in partnership with Heinrich Böll Foundation - Abuja Office launched the 𝗖𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸!

The Civil Society Shadow Monitoring Framework is a powerful tool designed to track Nigeria's implementation of the Universal Periodic Review 4th Cycle Recommendations.

The focus area of the CSO Monitoring Framework will include:
🟦 Freedom of Association: Monitoring policies that affect civil society organizations.
🟦 Freedom of Assembly: Evaluating citizens' rights to peaceful protests.
🟦 Freedom of Expression: Tracking press freedom and free speech.
🟦 Gender Issues: Measuring progress on women, children, and girls’ rights and inclusion.

Framework Highlights:
🟦 Clear Targets & Indicators: Tools to measure the implementation of UPR recommendations.
🟦 Policy Linkages: Connecting recommendations to government actions for stronger impact.
🟦 Accountability: Empowering civil society to advocate for progress and drive change.
