UNIBEN Graduate Honoured as Outstanding Corps Member in Kogi.

Miss Victoria Oluwatosin Toluwaloju, a Mass Communication graduate from the University of Benin, has been honoured by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Kogi State, as an Outstanding Corps Member for the 2024/2025 service year. Her recognition comes as a result of her dedication, remarkable contributions in community development, educational advocacy, and youth empowerment during her one-year mandatory service.

At the Passing Out Parade (POP) ceremony for Batch B Stream 1 in Lokoja, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr. Femi Osungbohun, commended Miss Toluwaloju for her discipline, vision, and unwavering commitment to service.

He described her as a shining example of what NYSC stands for, leadership, impact, and transformation in line with its motto, “Service and Humility.”

One of her standout initiatives was a menstrual hygiene campaign, through which she empowered over 800 girls across five secondary schools in Lokoja. The project provided free sanitary pads and sensitized young girls on proper menstrual health management.

MTN Nigeria owes Kogi State taxes from 2019 to 2024.

They never get to offset in total. The total debt currently stands at 1.2billion naira.

The critical assets of MTN buried in Kogi State does not only serve the state but adjoining 10 states because Kogi has a higher ground and situates as a dispatch to other boundary states.

If Glo can pay, especially with their income from the same state, why is MTN not paying?

I agree to the lapse in communication from the DG of KIUMCA in communicating appropriately, but what the agency did was to implement a Court Order.

MTN, Kogi end dispute, telecoms resume Wednesday —ALTON

30th April 2025

MTN Nigeria

Telecommunications services disrupted in Kogi State are expected to resume by Wednesday following a resolution of the dispute between MTN Nigeria and the state government, the Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria has said.

The Chairman of ALTON, Gbenga Adebayo, told PUNCH Online on Tuesday that the issues that led to the shutdown of telecom masts in the state, primarily affecting MTN, had been addressed, paving the way for service restoration.

“We have resolved the issues. Services will be fully restored on Wednesday,” Adebayo said.

The shutdown stemmed from a compliance dispute between MTN and the Kogi State Utility Infrastructure Management and Compliance Agency, which accused the telecom giant of violating operational rules and under-declaring the extent of its optic fibre network coverage in the state.
