Relocating to a new country can be exciting—but it can also take a toll on your skin. Many women in the diaspora experience unexpected skin problems due to climate change, new water systems, stress, or diet changes. Let’s dive into some of the most common issues and how to manage them.

1. Hyperpigmentation
Melanin-rich skin is prone to dark spots, especially from sun exposure or old acne. Many forget sunscreen in cold climates—but UV rays don’t disappear!
Solution: Use a broad-spectrum SPF daily and incorporate ingredients like niacinamide, alpha arbutin, or vitamin C.

2. Breakouts & Adult Acne
New food, stress, and hormonal changes can trigger acne—yes, even if you never had it before.
Solution: Cleanse twice daily, avoid pore-clogging products, and use spot treatments with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide.

3. Dry & Dehydrated Skin
Cold air, indoor heaters, and hard water can strip your skin of moisture.
Solution: Layer hydrating toners and serums (like hyaluronic acid), seal with a good moisturizer, and drink lots of water.
