Growing up in Mushin in the 1990s, I vividly remember young, well-dressed men escorting wealthy individuals to commercial areas, showcasing buildings for sale. These wealthy men and women, blinded by the promise of investment opportunities, ignored the warning signs from the community. Later, they would realize they had been scammed, losing their hard-earned money.
I often wondered about the strategies these scammers employed to deceive their victims. My parents revealed to me that they were professional scammers, known as "419." This experience taught me to be vigilant and cautious.
