FACTUAL REASONS WHY THE PHILOSOPHY OF FREEMASONRY IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH CHRISTIANITY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Talking about FREEMASONRY in Chapter 14 in his authorized autobiography, "THE UNFINISHED JOURNEY", Justice VCRAC Crabbe (who was a Freemason for over 50 years), made the following statements:
With all due respect and without prejudice, I have reflected on each of the statement within the framework of the gospel and suggested responses to guide young Christians who are asking whether they can join Freemasonry or not.
1. "One cannot become a Freemason without professing a belief in a Supreme Being" (2016:229)
RESPONSE: This makes the group a RELIGIOUS one since it admits NO ATHESTS. Which social group calling itself NON-RELIGIOUS bans atheist from joining?
2. "One is initiated into a lodge which becomes the family into which he is born - the family which grooms him into a better person for the world" (2016:230).
RESPONSE: The Christian is born into the Church - the Family of God with Christ as the Head - a family through which he or she grows into spiritual maturity to live like Jesus Christ of Nazareth
3. "There are three degrees of Masonry meant to graduate an individual in SPIRITUAL GROWTH and the science of personal knowledge" (2016:229)
RESPONSE: For the Christian, SPIRITUAL Growth is the work of the Holy Spirit and the growth is becoming LIKE CHRIST
4. "The teaching of Freemasonry transcends all denominational and sectarian divisions. In the field of human conducts, it is COMPLEMENTARY to religion..." (2016:230)
RESPONSE: To the Christian, NOTHING is COMPLEMENTARY to Christ. Christ is SUPREME; we need nothing TO ADD to Christ
5. "Initiation into Freemasonry is initiation into THE LIGHT (2016:235)
RESPONSE: As Christians, we know only Jesus Christ as THE LIGHT
6. "I requested (name withheld) to install me as Master and he said, 'I'll do it, but on one condition; that you FAST FOR THREE DAYS'. I obliged and fasted from Thursday to Saturday which was the day of the ceremony. We went through the ceremony, but what people said afterwards made me realise what I had gone through. I was told they could feel the presence of other COSMIC BEINGS" (2016:236)
RESPONSE: Fasting as a requirement for initiation into a group (which considers itself non-religious) and at a ceremony where other cosmic beings will be present makes it a SPIRITUAL EXPERIENCE incompatible with Christianity (where fasting is to yield only to THE HOLY SPIRIT)
