DON'T USE AND DUMP
(C) Odunayo Ezekiel Timileyin
In the beginning, God created man in His image and likeness. But sin separated us from our Source. A deep void formed in the heart of man—one only God can fill.
Over time, people have tried to fill that void with things, people, and temporary fixes. None of them work. Nothing fits that space except God.
What’s troubling is that some people only run to God when life crashes. And as soon as the storm passes, they walk away like nothing happened. It’s like they treat God as a disposable item—something to clean up their mess, then toss aside.
But God is not a tissue.
He’s not your backup plan.
He’s not a last resort.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 says, "Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come." Another verse reminds us, "Seek the Lord while He may be found; call on Him while He is near."
Some people wait until chaos hits to cry out to God—and some never get the chance to make it right again. Others still live with the consequences of turning their backs on Him.
God isn’t just here to give you a spouse, a job, or a breakthrough. He wants a relationship. Intimacy. Oneness. He wants your heart, not just your problems.
Jesus says, "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
He’s the only one who can fill that emptiness. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Stop using God as a fire extinguisher. Don’t run to Him only when it burns. Run to Him always. Stay with Him. Learn from Him. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light.
Let it be said of you:
This one is a true child of God.
This one found real rest.
You will face challenges—it’s scriptural. But defeat? That’s not your portion if you walk with God, with intentionality and purpose.
DON’T USE GOD AND DUMP HIM AGAIN.
I WILL NOT USE GOD AND DUMP HIM ANYMORE.
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
