I received the news of the passing of **Kabiyesi, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona**, the **Awujale of Ijebuland**, with deep sadness and reflection.

A monarch of rare wisdom, courage, and foresight, Kabiyesi served his people with honour for over six decades—an era marked by bold leadership, cultural pride, and unwavering integrity.

Among his many legacies, the **Oba Sikiru Adetona Institute for Governance Studies** stands tall—a symbol of his commitment to nurturing leadership and accountability in Nigeria. He also redefined traditional rulership by promoting education, modernization, and speaking truth to power without fear or favour.

To the people of **Ijebuland** and all Nigerians, this is a monumental loss. But we take comfort in the fact that Kabiyesi lived, led, and left a mark history will not forget.
