What Matters to God Right Now?

📝 Caption:
In every generation, God’s heart beats for certain eternal priorities. And though times and cultures change, His expectations remain rooted in His character and redemptive plan.

Here’s what still matters most to God — even now:

🔥 1. Souls — Salvation of Humanity

“The Lord… is not willing that any should perish…” — 2 Peter 3:9
Every divine shaking is a call back to repentance and redemption.

📖 2. Truth — Living and Upholding His Word

“Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” — John 17:17
God is looking for those who will live the Word, not just quote it.

⚖️ 3. Holiness — A Life Set Apart

“Be holy, for I am holy.” — 1 Peter 1:16
Not perfection — but surrendered lives that reflect His nature.

❤️‍🔥 4. Justice, Mercy & Humility

“Act justly… love mercy… walk humbly…” — Micah 6:8
God is not impressed by titles. He wants hearts that reflect His nature.

🤝 5. The Church — United in Power & Love

“By this everyone will know… if you love one another.” — John 13:35
We must drop pride and unite in prayer, purity, and purpose.

👑 6. Kingdom Work — Purpose Over Pleasure

“Seek first the kingdom…” — Matthew 6:33
This is not the time to chase comfort. It’s time to build what lasts.

✨ So What Should We Focus On?

✅ Evangelism — Win souls
✅ Discipleship — Raise spiritual maturity
✅ Family — Rebuild the home
✅ Prayer — Host God’s presence
✅ Missions & Mercy — Go to the lost & love the broken

📖 Final Thought:

“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” — Matthew 9:37
Let’s stop wasting time—and start walking in our mandate.

💍 “Marriage is not for the selfish.”
It’s for those who are willing to serve, sacrifice, forgive, and grow.
God designed marriage as a refining process—not a self-serving one.

Let’s be reminded: You don’t enter marriage to get all your needs met; you enter to love like Christ.

Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover—But Remember, Covers Matter

We live in a world where first impressions often become lasting impressions. While we all agree that a person’s true worth is deeper than their outward appearance, it is also undeniable that how you present yourself speaks volumes before you even open your mouth.

Imagine walking into a courtroom and seeing a man dressed in tattered jeans, slippers, and a wrinkled T-shirt sitting behind the judge’s bench. Your first instinct would likely be confusion or disbelief because his appearance does not match the authority of the role. Now, imagine stepping into a corporate office for an important business meeting and being greeted by an executive in pajamas. Regardless of how competent they may be, their presentation sends a message that clashes with expectations.

Your Appearance Is a Silent Communicator

Every time you step out, you are communicating something—even when you are silent. Your dressing, grooming, and posture tell a story before you say a single word. A well-dressed person exudes confidence, responsibility, and self-respect, while a careless appearance can signal disorganization or a lack of seriousness.

This is why job seekers are advised to dress professionally for interviews, why lawyers wear suits in court, and why military officers wear uniforms. These choices are not accidental; they shape perception and command respect.

The Reality of Human Nature

Yes, we all wish to live in a world where people are not judged by their appearance but by their character, skills, and values. But reality tells a different story—people make snap judgments based on what they see. This is not necessarily a bad thing; it is how the human brain works. It categorizes and processes information quickly, and appearance plays a big role in that process.

Think about it: If you see a man wearing a white coat and a stethoscope, you instinctively assume he is a doctor. If you see someone in a police uniform, you expect them to enforce the law. The same logic applies to everyday encounters. Whether in business, ministry, or casual interactions, people respond to the image you present.

Balance: Don’t Be Superficial, But Be Wise

This is not to say we should judge people solely by their appearance. Many times, the most intelligent, kind, or talented individuals may not always look the part at first glance. However, wisdom teaches us to balance things. While we should strive to look beyond the surface when assessing others, we must also acknowledge that how we present ourselves determines how we will be received.

So, while we shouldn’t judge books by their covers, we must also recognize that a well-designed cover invites more readers. How are you presenting yourself to the world today?

Marriage and Ministry: Lessons from the Divorce of Rev. Charlotte Oduro and Apostle Solomon Oduro

The recent news of the divorce between renowned marriage counselor Rev. Charlotte Oduro and Apostle Solomon Oduro has left many shocked. If marriage counselors and pastors—who dedicate their lives to guiding others—can experience marital breakdowns, what does this mean for the rest of us?

The truth is, marriage is a lifelong journey that requires effort, commitment, and grace. While we may not know the full details behind their separation, this situation offers valuable lessons for both married couples and those preparing for marriage.

Pitfalls to Avoid in Marriage:
1. Unresolved Conflicts – Sweeping issues under the rug only creates resentment. Healthy communication and conflict resolution are key.
2. Ministry and Career Pressure – Couples must balance their calling with family life. Prioritizing marriage over external responsibilities is crucial.
3. Growing Apart Spiritually and Emotionally – A strong marriage requires both partners to grow together in faith and emotional connection.
4. Neglecting Each Other – Quality time, emotional intimacy, and affection keep the bond strong. Don’t let work, ministry, or routine push your spouse to the background.
5. Public Pressure and External Influence – Couples, especially public figures, must protect their union from outside interference, negative advice, and societal expectations.
6. Ignoring Warning Signs – Premarital counseling should go beyond emotions and chemistry. Pay attention to potential red flags and address them early.

Counsel for Married Couples and Those Preparing for Marriage

For those already married, prioritize communication, seek counsel early when challenges arise, and never let your spouse feel like a secondary priority. Prayer, patience, and intentional effort sustain a marriage.

For singles preparing for marriage, don’t just look for a godly partner—become one yourself. Ensure you and your future spouse share similar values, vision, and emotional maturity.

Marriage is not about perfection but about two imperfect people committed to working things out with God’s help. Let’s learn from this and build stronger, more resilient marriages.

Should Gospel Musicians Charge for Ministrations?

There has been a long-standing debate on whether gospel musicians should charge for their ministrations. While some believe ministry should be free, others argue that musicians invest time, effort, and resources into their craft and deserve financial support.

Here’s a balanced perspective:
✅ Gospel music is a ministry but also a commitment that requires financial input—transportation, rehearsals, sound equipment, and even the well-being of the musicians.
✅ Instead of fixing a fee, it is more appropriate to receive honorariums or love offerings, allowing churches and event organizers to give based on their capacity.
✅ Churches should not exploit musicians under the guise of “serving God” while ignoring the reality that maintaining a band costs money. The same applies to instrumentalists who play in church. If a church can afford it, they should support and pay their musicians.
✅ On the other hand, musicians should not make money their primary focus. If led by God to minister without expecting financial gain, they should do so with joy.

The key is balance—churches should be responsible, and musicians should be spirit-led. Let’s not commercialize worship, but let’s also not devalue those who serve.

Morning Sickness and Nausea During Pregnancy: A Nigerian Woman’s Guide

Understanding Morning Sickness

Morning sickness is a common experience for many pregnant women, especially in the first trimester. Despite its name, it can happen at any time of the day or night. About 70% of pregnant women experience nausea, vomiting, or both.

For most women, it starts around the 5th or 6th week of pregnancy and eases up by the 14th to 20th week. Some believe it’s the body’s way of protecting the baby from harmful foods during early development.

Symptoms of Morning Sickness

If you’re pregnant, you may experience:
✅ Nausea (feeling like throwing up)
✅ Vomiting
✅ Dry heaving (retching without bringing anything up)
✅ Excessive saliva production

While morning sickness is normal, seek medical help immediately if:
⚠️ You can’t keep any food or water down for 24 hours.
⚠️ You lose more than 2 kg suddenly.
⚠️ You feel dizzy or weak.
⚠️ You vomit blood or have severe abdominal pain.

What Causes Morning Sickness?

Pregnancy brings many changes to the body, including hormonal shifts. Some possible causes of nausea include:
🔹 Pregnancy Hormones (hCG & Estrogen): These increase rapidly and may trigger nausea.
🔹 Sensitivity to Smells: Some women become extra sensitive to strong odors like fried food or perfume.
🔹 Carrying Twins: Women pregnant with twins or multiples tend to have higher hormone levels, leading to worse nausea.

How to Manage Morning Sickness Naturally

💡 Eat Small, Frequent Meals: Don’t let your stomach stay empty. Snack on dry crackers before getting out of bed.
💡 Stay Hydrated: Sip cold drinks, ginger tea, or fresh zobo (hibiscus drink).
💡 Avoid Strong Smells: Steer clear of fried or spicy foods if they make you nauseous.
💡 Try Ginger & Peppermint: Ginger tea, ginger ale, or even chewing fresh ginger may help.
💡 Wear Acupressure Wristbands: These are sold in pharmacies and help reduce nausea.
💡 Rest Well: Fatigue makes nausea worse, so get plenty of sleep.

Safe Foods for Morning Sickness

🥜 Groundnuts & Tiger Nuts – Good protein sources that settle the stomach.
🍌 Bananas & Pawpaw – Gentle on the stomach and rich in nutrients.
🍞 Whole-wheat bread & Akamu (pap) – Light but nourishing.
🍲 Pepper soup (without too much spice) – Easy to digest and soothing.

When to Consider Medication

If home remedies don’t help, your doctor may recommend Vitamin B6, ginger supplements, or safe anti-nausea medications. Always consult your healthcare provider before taking any medicine.

Stay Strong, Mama! 💪🏾

Pregnancy is a journey, and morning sickness is just one stop along the way. Remember, every pregnancy is different, and your body is doing an amazing job growing a little life. Take it easy, listen to your body, and seek support when needed.
