I was seated on my own when messages began coming in, with attached links to social media posts claiming that Apostle Femi Lazarus has “japad” to Kenya.
To begin with, the use of the word “japad” is quite derogatory and personally insulting to me, even on his behalf.
It is becoming increasingly evident that many people usually do not fully receive or appreciate the ministries of some rare indigenous voices among them, until they are far from reach.
My first concern is this: individuals with profound clarity on social and spiritual transformation are often led by God to leave the very places where they are most needed. That, in itself, reveals something important, that we sometimes only value what is distant. Unfortunately so!
Secondly, attaining the level and influence Apostle Lazarus has reached in Nigeria, especially at the time he did- is nothing short of extraordinary. To choose to leave that behind for any nation on earth, whether the USA, China, or elsewhere, is a significant sacrifice.
He could have remained in Abuja, continuing to send trained sons and daughters across nations while visiting occasionally— which is both strategic and effective.
However, relocating himself and his family to a different terrain reflects a deeper demonstration of faith and obedience to the very calling that brought him into prominence.
Thirdly, with due respect, is Kenya a destination someone with global access would typically consider for “greener pastures,”? Let’s be serious for a moment 😊😊.
Rather than making light or cynical remarks about such a bold decision, thoughtful individuals will recognize this as a moment to learn, and to offer both prayerful and practical support to ease the work.
That said, in my opinion I see the bloggers even with their cynicism, still doing the Lord’s work.
Dear father in the Lord, we see you.
We know you more than most out there.
We discern the heart behind your actions and can testify that you have consistently chosen the path of obedience over convenience.
We remain confident in the Most High God that the work will flourish even more from Kenya and beyond.
With love and tremendous regard,
