Teacher Fatally Shot Amid Post-Election Tensions

A heartbreaking video making rounds on social media shows the death of Mrs. Zouhaira, a respected teacher, reportedly shot this Tuesday in Garoua as tensions continue to rise following Cameroon’s disputed presidential election.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred in Poumpoumré, one of the neighborhoods where security forces were heavily deployed to disperse crowds. Mrs. Zouhaira, who taught at the local Arabic Primary School, was said to be returning home from school when she was caught in the chaos and accidentally shot.

Her sudden passing has left the Garoua community in deep mourning, with residents and fellow teachers expressing anger and sorrow over what many describe as an unnecessary loss.

The tragedy has also rekindled public outrage over the government’s management of election-related protests, with growing calls for restraint, accountability, and justice.

Breaking: Paul Biya has Reportedly Offered Prime Minister Position to Issa Tchiroma Bakary

In a stunning post-election twist, Jeune Afrique reports that President Paul Biya allegedly offered the post of Prime Minister to opposition candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary in the tense days following Cameroon’s October 12 presidential election.

According to the report (published October 21, 2025), the offer came over the weekend as tensions escalated nationwide. Tchiroma who had already declared himself the legitimate winner reportedly rejected the proposal, insisting that “the people have already chosen” and vowing to “defend the truth of the ballot.”

Analysts believe the move reflects growing anxiety within the ruling regime amid widespread protests and public calls for transparency. If true, the gesture could be seen as an attempt by Biya who has ruled since 1982 to negotiate calm or secure leverage before the Constitutional Council announces the final results later this week.

Issa Tchiroma don come out strong against the alleged election results from the North West and South West regions, sending a bold and fearless message to President Paul Biya and the Constitutional Council.

According to Tchiroma, Cameroonians voted bravely for change, despite fear and intimidation — but the process don turn into a show of massive fraud and manipulation.

He say ballot boxes disappeared, fake figures were created, and forged results replaced the real ones all to favor the ruling regime.

Tchiroma question how wàr-torn regions that openly rejected the government could suddenly give it 100% support, calling it an insult to the people’s intelligence.

He warn the Constitutional Council to stand for truth and respect the people’s will, saying that validating fake results could push the country into chaos.

Addressing President Paul Biya directly, Tchiroma said:

“You’ve led Cameroon for 43 years. History is watching you. Leave power with honor, not with shame. Respect the will of your people.”

He also call on the AU, EU, and UN to condemn electoral fraud and support Cameroonians’ right to genuine democracy.

Tchiroma end by saying:

“This is not my victory it’s the victory of the Cameroonian people. Their voice will not be stolen.”

I fear Paul Biya may be declared winner of the October 2025 elections. According to social media trends said to be from the vote counting commission, Biya won almost all the votes in the war striken zones of Northwest and Southwest.

This will be the greatest blunder in the history of Cameroonian politics.

Dr. Appollinaire Legrand Oko Fires Back at Minister Grégoire Owona: “A Very Useless Minister of Labour”

Cameroon’s political space just got hotter.
Dr. Appollinaire Legrand Oko has unleashed a fiery response to Labour Minister Grégoire Owona, calling him “a very useless Minister of Labour.”

This comes after Owona reacted to Professor Maurice Kamto’s statement urging respect for the truth of the ballot box. Instead of addressing the message, Owona tried to link the recent Dschang unrest to Kamto a move that didn’t sit well with Dr. Oko.

In his reply, Dr. Oko questioned why Owona had stayed silent for days until Kamto spoke up:

“It took Professor Maurice Kamto speaking out for you to suddenly react. Maurice Kamto is clearly your nightmare.”

He went further, slamming Owona’s attempt to connect Kamto’s native Baham to the Dschang protests, describing it as “miserable and hateful.”

“You reduce serious national issues to tribal origins that’s all you’ve learned after decades beside Biya?”

237TownCryer Responds to Jovi: “You’re Mocking the Same People Who Built You?”

Rapper Jovi is under fire after appearing to dismiss fans who urged him to speak up about the situation in Cameroon.

In a fiery response, 237TownCryer called out the artist’s tone, saying:

“You disrespect your people just because they yearn for you to speak up for them? You’re asking the same people who built your career if they know what it takes to build one? Yeyebrity”
