Group pledge to Boost Support for President Tinubu’s Reelection in Asaba

The Renewed Hope Patriotic Movement has been formally inaugurated in Asaba, Delta State, in a ceremony attended by groups, community leaders, and political stakeholders. The new support group declared its commitment to mobilizing grassroots support for the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Organizers of the event announced that the Movement has a comprehensive executive structure spanning the senatorial, local government, ward, and unit levels across Delta State. The state coordinator of the group, Patriot Dr Chris Ovie, at the event said the executives are ready to mobilize and canvas votes at every polling unit to ensure broad-based support for President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda ahead of the next election.

Speakers at the inauguration emphasized that the Movement will serve as a key platform for voter education, policy advocacy, and grassroots engagement. They noted that having executives embedded at the unit and ward levels positions, the group will drive door-to-door campaigns, highlight federal and state achievements, and consolidate support for the President’s reelection.

The Movement also used the occasion to commend Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and the Delta State Government for ongoing infrastructure development across the state. They cited road projects, public facilities, and urban renewal efforts as evidence of governance impacting citizens’ daily lives.

In a communique issued at the close of the event, members resolved to support the state government’s policies that align with development, peace, and economic growth, while working to promote the Renewed Hope agenda at the federal and state level.

The inauguration concluded with the swearing-in of the State and senatorial executives, who pledged to begin immediate mobilization in their respective areas.

Governor Monday Okpebholo Reassure Esan people of more development

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo gave the assurance while addressing a mammoth crowd of party faithfuls, supporters and Esan people from across the district at Ekpoma, Esan West local government, during the All Progressive Congress (APC) grand finale campaign rally ahead of the senatorial by-election.

He said that the administration is committed to the development of the state and called on the people to support the vision by electing the party's flag bearer in Saturday's election in order to guarantee effective representation and accelerated development of Esan Central Senatorial district.

The speakers at the event noted the giant strides made by Governor Monday Okpebholo's administration within the past nine months and assured them of further development across the state.

Other APC leaders and stakeholders at the rally were the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Bar Musa Ikhilor, Chief of Staff, Mallam Ganiyu Audu, Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Owan Marathon 2025, Winners Presented with cash prizes

Owan Trust and Global Bridge Initiative, organisers of the annual Owan Marathon have presented cash prizes to winners and consolation prizes to the runner's up of the 10km Road Race from Afuze to Sabongida-Ora in Edo State, held on January 3rd 2025.

Presenting the prizes on behalf of Owan Trust and Global Bridge Initiative, at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Mr Alaba Ojo congratulated the winners and runners up of the competition for the excellent performance and adherence to the rules of the game. He emphasized that the organization will remain committed to sports development in Nigeria especially in identifying talents in marathon race. He assured that the next edition will be all encompassing and it targets a larger number of athletes to compete in the game.

The Marathon race was keenly contested with athletes from within and outside Edo State participating, under the supervision of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria.

Master Mbah Godspower Paebi emerged as the winner of the male category while Miss Olumide Elizabeth emerged as the winner of the female category at the competition.
