What's in a balanced diet?
1.Fruits and vegetables: Eat at least five portions of a variety of fruits and vegetables each day.
2.Grains: Base meals on whole grains, such as brown rice, quinoa, oats, barley, and dark rye.
Protein: Eat lean meats, fish, poultry, eggs, beans, and nuts.
3.Dairy: Eat low-fat or fat-free dairy, such as milk, cheese, or yogurt.
4.Fats and oils: Choose unsaturated fats from nuts, seeds, fatty fish, and some vegetable oils.
5.Fiber: Eat foods with fiber, such as potatoes, bread, rice, or pasta.
6.Water: Drink plenty of fluids, such as water or herbal teas.
