Before joining CBA, I thought I had a decent understanding of the music industry but this experience has shown me how vast and layered the industry truly is. One major thing I’ve learned is that there is the music, the music industry, and the music business and all three play different roles in an artist or producer’s journey.
Through the CBA Bootcamp and Cohort, I’ve gained knowledge across different sectors of the industry including the recording industry, live industry, publishing, support services, interactive industry, talent management & A&R, intellectual property, contracts, film for music, fashion for music, and songwriting.
As a producer currently in my talent development phase, CBA has helped me understand so much beyond just making music. It has expanded my perspective on the business, structure, and opportunities within the African music ecosystem.
Grateful for the growth, knowledge, and exposure so far. Still learning. Still growing
