Happy Independence Day!
A day that reminds us of freedom - and my message to the world is simple: DREAM.
Why? Because dreams are free.
A year ago, we dared to dream. We believed we could make a difference. We dreamt of a better world, where generations yet unborn would thank us for the footprints we left behind. We dreamt of sustainability.
That dream birthed something historic:
When Ayelabola Ololade, a young computer science graduate passionate about fashion, was told she was “too short” for the runway, she asked: “Who decided that dreams must fit a template?” Instead of shrinking back, she rallied models of all heights, shapes, and stories - and together, they shattered barriers.
Step by step, stride by stride, Ololade walked her way into the Guinness World Records for the longest distance walked on a catwalk.
But it was never just about the record -
it was about rewriting narratives, breaking stereotypes, and proving that every dream is valid.
That walk gave birth to We Dare to Dream (D2D) - a community where “every dream is worthy if it strides toward a better world.”
Rooted in the Sustainable Development Goals, it directly advanced SDG 10: Reducing Inequalities.
Today, the D2D community is more than a movement. We’re connecting models with brands, advocating for the circular economy, and incubating bold projects addressing multiple SDGs.
