Nancy Crampton Brophy was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of 🔪 her husband, chef and culinary instructor Daniel Brophy, in a case that gained widespread attention because of an essay she had written years earlier titled “How to Mrder Your Husband.” Daniel was found s*t dead in June 2018 inside the Oregon Culinary Institute in Portland, where he taught. Prosecutors said Nancy did it for roughly $1.4 million in life insurance money as the couple faced serious financial problems. In 2011, Nancy published a 700-word essay discussing possible motives and methods for k*lling a husband, writing that a woman would need to be “organized, ruthless, and very clever.” The essay was excluded from her trial because it had been written years earlier as part of a writing seminar. Prosecutors instead relied on circumstantial evidence, including surveillance footage placing her vehicle near the crime scene and evidence that she bought a ghost gun kit and an extra barrel. She was convicted in 2022 and sentenced to life with the possibility of parole after 25 years.

On July 9, 2022, Oklahoma friends Larry Sanders and Jimmy Knighten went noodling, a form of bare-handed catfishing, on the South Canadian River, but the fishing trip ended with Knighten dead after Sanders told investigators he believed his friend was trying to “summon” Bigfoot and feed him to the creature. According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Sanders said a confrontation began while they were fishing; he punched Knighten, struck him with a stick, and fought with him on the ground before ultimately choking him to death near the river. Sanders told investigators he believed Knighten was trying to get away from him so that “sasquatch/Bigfoot” could eat him. Afterward, Sanders returned home and told his daughter that he had ended Knighten’s life because he believed Knighten was trying to feed him to Bigfoot, then repeated the claim to his daughter’s boyfriend, who was also Knighten’s son. Sanders later cooperated with investigators and drew a map that helped authorities locate Knighten’s body in the heavily wooded area, where his remains were found roughly 24 hours later. Sanders was charged with first-degree murder. The local sheriff also said Sanders appeared to be under the influence of something at the time, with methamphetamine suspected, although no blood tests were taken. He had previous drug-related legal problems, including a 2019 probation sentence after bringing methamphetamine into jail following an arrest for public intoxication. The case drew widespread attention because of Sanders’ extraordinary explanation involving Bigfoot, a legendary creature associated with sightings across the United States. Despite the bizarre claim, authorities charged Sanders in connection with Knighten’s death and continued investigating the circumstances.

A 36-year-old mother, Madeline Veronique Daly, has been convicted in the de*th of her 11-month-old son, Basil Stoner, after taking him across state lines in violation of a custody order. Authorities later found Daly inside an RV in rural New Mexico, and prosecutors said she s*t the baby in the face as law enforcement closed in. Investigators said Daly claimed she believed Basil would be in danger if custody went to his father and made unsubstantiated claims that he could be mlested. She also told investigators she believed what she had done was “worth it.” The claims were not substantiated, and Daly was ultimately convicted in connection with Basil’s death.

Tree-trimmer Christopher Boone Crimmins, 34, faces a second-degree mansl-ughter charge after his 26-year-old co-worker, Tyler Anthony Lynch, ded when a hydraulic grapple crushed his head during a tree-trimming job in Apple Valley, Minnesota. According to the complaint, the two were f**ing around and noticed sunlight casting shadows of the grapple and Lynch on the street. Authorities in Tulsa say a man accused of defecating and smearing it on the walls and doors of local businesses has been arrested. Tulsa Police Department said the suspect was identified as Henry Dudley after officers were called to a shopping center near 81st Street and Harvard on August 19, 2026. According to police, the thong-wearing, partially masked man had been defecating, smearing it on walls, exposing himself, and engaging in inappropriate behavior directly in front of a camera. Dudley is currently booked into the Tulsa County Jail for indecent exposure and could face additional charges.

A shocking case has emerged from Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, involving the deth of Manoj Soni and the arrest of his wife Naina, daughter, and his daughter’s boyfriend following a suspected family conspiracy linked to the daughter’s relationship. According to police, Manoj had caught his daughter with her boyfriend and objected to their relationship, leading to a confrontation inside the house. Investigators said Naina later mixed a sedative substance into Manoj’s milk, and after he became unconscious, she struck him on the head with a stone, resulting in his deth.
