Most artists don't have a music problem.

They have an attention problem.

There are thousands of good songs released every single day.

Some are beautifully written.

Some are professionally mixed and mastered.

Some deserve millions of streams.

Yet they disappear without anyone noticing.

Why?

Because great music doesn't automatically attract attention.

Attention has to be earned.

Many artists spend months perfecting one song...

Then spend only five minutes thinking about how people will discover it.

That's backwards.

Think about your favorite movie.

Before it came out, you probably saw the trailer.

Then another trailer.

Then interviews.

Behind-the-scenes clips.

Posters.

Teasers.

Countdowns.

People were talking about it long before release day.

That's marketing.

Now compare that to how many independent artists release music.

They post a cover art.

Write:
"My new song is out now."

Drop a streaming link.

Then disappear.

A week later they complain that nobody supported them.

But support usually follows familiarity.

People rarely become fans after seeing you once.

They become fans after seeing your consistency.

After hearing your story.

After watching your journey.

After feeling like they're growing with you.

Your audience doesn't just want finished songs.

They want to see unfinished moments too.

Show yourself writing lyrics.

Show your recording sessions.

Show yourself struggling to get the right take.

Talk about the meaning behind a verse.

Explain why a particular line matters to you.

Celebrate small wins.

Share lessons from your failures.

Those moments make people emotionally invested.

When release day finally comes...

They're no longer listening to a stranger.

They're supporting someone whose journey they've been following.

Another mistake many artists make is waiting until everything is "perfect."

Perfect camera.

Perfect studio.

Perfect logo.

Perfect branding.

Perfect confidence.

Meanwhile, someone with less talent but more consistency is building an audience every single day.

Perfection delays progress.

Consistency creates momentum.

Remember this too:

Algorithms don't reward people who only show up on release day.

They reward people who keep people watching, commenting, sharing, and returning.

That's why content matters.

Not because content is more important than music...

But because content introduces people to your music.

Think of content as the invitation.

The song is the experience.

Without the invitation, many people never get to experience what you've created.

So stop asking,

"How do I make this song go viral?"

Start asking,

"How do I become someone people enjoy following?"

Because fans don't only buy songs.

They buy into people.

Your personality.

Your values.

Your consistency.

Your story.

Your journey.

The music is what keeps them.

But your story is often what brings them in.

Never underestimate the power of showing up before you ask people to listen.

Because in today's music industry...

Attention comes before streams.

Connection comes before loyalty.

And consistency comes before success.

Keep creating.

Keep showing up.

Keep giving people a reason to remember your name.

The audience you want is already out there.

Your job is to make it impossible for them to ignore your journey.

Dear Musician

Your Producer Might Own Part of Your Song

Many artists assume that paying for studio time means they own the song. That’s not always true. A producer can legally own a portion of your song — especially if there was no agreement discussed upfront. If a producer contributed creatively to the beat, melody, or structure, they may be entitled to ownership and royalties. Ignoring this can lead to disputes, frozen royalties, or takedowns later.

Being a music producer is more than making beats.
It’s late nights, loud ideas, silent doubts, and moments where everything finally clicks.
It’s learning from mistakes, trusting your ears, and chasing a sound only you can hear.
Every project is a piece of growth, every session a step forward.
This desk isn’t just a setup—it’s where passion turns into purpose. Still learning. Still creating. Still producing. 🎶
