Did You Know There Was A Town In Nigeria That Disappeared in a Day?

You didn't? Okay;

In 1957, the entire village of Araromi-Oke disappeared without a trace. The only thing left was the town square and one stubborn goat. What happened to the people? A mystery still unsolved till today.

In the old Western Region of Nigeria, there was a town known as Araromi-Oke; a quiet, thriving Yoruba settlement between Oyo and Osun. Farmers lived there. Hunters came there to worship Ogun. But one morning in 1957, neighboring villagers discovered the town was gone.

Not destroyed. Not attacked.
Just emptied.

Houses were intact. Pots still boiling. Palm wine still fresh in calabashes. But not a single soul was found. Till date, no bodies, no signs of struggle, no mass relocation record.

Some say the villagers had a covenant with a deity they broke. Others say the land was cursed and it reclaimed its people.

Whatever happened to Araromi-Oke remains one of Nigeria’s strangest mysteries.

I remember been told about this town some years back. But I had totally forgotten, until research led me there again.

𝗜𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟰, 𝗮 𝗽𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗼𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗭𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲. 😮

When a 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 unknowingly came close to a 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗸, the dolphins formed a protective circle around them, keeping the predator at bay for 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀. The swimmers made it safely back to shore.

Nature’s superheroes are real — and sometimes they swim in pods. 🌊💙

• In 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟰, lifeguard Rob Howes and three other swimmers were off the coast near Whangarei, 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗭𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱, when a pod of bottlenose dolphins began circling them tightly.
• The dolphins stayed close for over 40 minutes, herding the humans together and slapping the water.
• Only later did the group realize the reason: a great white shark, estimated to be over 3 meters (10 feet) long, was spotted nearby by another lifeguard observing from a boat.
• Experts say dolphins sometimes protect their young or other species by mobbing sharks, using speed, agility, and group coordination.

WHEN WE LOVE PEOPLE ❤️❤️❤️

we seek them out during the worst seasons of their lives.

·It's time we learn the difference between loving someone & needing them--because of some benefit they provide us.

·Being fond of others because they meet a need isn't love. It's appreciation.

·Love is revealed in how you respond when they can no longer be a benefit to you & may need you to be a benefit to them.
