Iran has publicly denied agreeing to hand over or ship its highly enriched uranium stockpile out of the country, directly contradicting claims from Washington.
A senior Iranian official clarified that Tehran’s nuclear files are completely excluded from the preliminary security agreement currently being negotiated with the United States to end the ongoing regional conflict.
This pushback comes after U.S. President Donald Trump and White House officials announced that a framework had been "largely negotiated" wherein Iran would agree "in principle" to dispose of its highly enriched material.
