Life is so private that no body knows that I had a meeting with my kids last night and in the meeting, I told them that from today, the language we all will be speaking in this house is Igbo, no more English and every week the person who improved in Igbo speaking will get a parfait as a present.
(I intentionally added it as a form of motivation)
So my people this morning the house is so quiet🤣🤣 and every minute, one will come to me and ask me what so so means in Igbo like mummy what is I am hungry in Igbo and I will respond in Igbo so this is how we have been doing it and I am positive that by the time we are done with this long vacation, all of them will master how to speak Igbo very well.
After they are done with house chores, they will start watching Igbo Youtube channel because I am so intentional about this and I pray I achieve this🙏❤️
A family friend that gave birth to all her kids in USA and lives there, their kids can speak Igbo very well cos they were so Intentional about it.
The other day on Tiktok, i saw some teenagers lamenting on how their parents didnt teach them their language how its kinda embarrassing that they cant express themselves in their native language in front of their tribe members.
So even thou some of us didnt start on time, it is still not too late to start now especially now they are on holiday.
If we become intentional about it,from now to september, we will surely achieve it.
So are you willing to join me lets do this or you think your kids not knowing how to spesk their native-language is a flex?
Those of you that didnt birth ur kids in the east and they can speak Igbo or your native language well, can you share other things you did that worked for you?
Asusu Igbo Amaka Biko❤️
