APC Youth Empowerment: N’East Vice Chair Mustapha Salihu to Empower APC Youth with 5Million Each, Starting September

September 7, 2025

NEWS:

In a bold move to reward loyalty and dedication, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Northeast Vice Chairman, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, has unveiled a youth empowerment program aimed at uplifting hardworking and committed party youths across the region.

Beginning this September, five (5) selected APC youths will each receive 5 million as part of the initiative. According to Comrade Salihu, the program is designed not only to reward sacrifice and dedication but also to strengthen the party’s youth base and encourage more active participation at the grassroots.

The empowerment scheme is structured to expand progressively. While five beneficiaries will be empowered this month, the number will double to ten (10) in October, with the figure expected to continue increasing in subsequent months.

Comrade Salihu noted that the initiative reflects his commitment to youth development, party growth, and the creation of opportunities that will enable young people to contribute meaningfully to society and the APC.

Party stakeholders and youth leaders have lauded the gesture, describing it as a historic step that will not only motivate youths but also foster unity, loyalty, and stronger structures within the APC in the Northeast and beyond.

This initiative marks a new chapter for APC youths, many of whom have worked tirelessly for the success of the party, often with little or no resources. With this program, the future looks promising for dedicated party members.

Ex-SGF Mustapha Condoles APC Chieftain Salihu, Lamido of Adamawa Over Bereavements

By Austine Agbo Emmanuel, Kaduna

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, CFR, has expressed deep condolences to the National Vice Chairman (North-East) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustapha Salihu, PhD, over the death of his elder brother, Engr. Salihu Muhammad Barde, as well as to the Lamido of Adamawa, Dr. Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, and the Fombina Emirate Council on the passing of the former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Mustapha, OFR, the Sardauna of Adamawa.

In separate condolence messages made available to journalists, the former SGF described both deaths as painful and monumental losses to the families, the people of Adamawa State, and the nation at large.

On the passing of Engr. Barde, Mustapha commiserated with Comrade Salihu and his family, urging them to submit to the will of Allah while praying for divine mercy on the deceased. He noted that the late Barde’s life of service and devotion to family and community would be fondly remembered.

“At this solemn moment, we are reminded of the words of the Holy Qur’an: Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un - indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return,” he said.

Turning to the demise of Dr. Ahmad Aliyu Mustapha, the Sardauna of Adamawa, Boss Mustapha described him as a visionary leader and exemplary public servant whose distinguished career as Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service reflected patriotism, integrity, and excellence.

He added that the elder statesman was also a bridge-builder, and a beacon of wisdom whose legacy of humility and courage would continue to inspire generations.

He prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of both deceased persons, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus, and provide the families, the Fombina Emirate Council, and the people of Adamawa State the fortitude to bear the irreparable losses.

The Jana’izah (funeral prayer) for the late Engr. Barde was held on Saturday at Gwallaga Mosque in Bauchi, while burial of the late Sardauna of Adamawa had took place already according to Islamic rites in Yola as coordinated by the Fombina Emirate Council.

Gov. Zulum at 56: A Testament of Courage and Service - Boss Mustapha

At 56, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum represents much more than the Governor of Borno State. He has become a living testimony of what courage, vision, and sacrifice can achieve even in the most difficult circumstances.

I have watched with admiration how he has shouldered the weight of leadership in one of the most challenging environments in our nation. Rather than allow despair to define his people, he chose hope; rather than lament over ruins, he set out to rebuild; and rather than retreat to comfort, he daily risks personal convenience to stand in solidarity with the displaced and vulnerable. This is the essence of leadership.

Zulum’s legacy is already secure in history. The boldness of his 25-Year Development Plan, the clarity of his 10-Year Strategic Framework, and the relentless pace at which he has restored schools, hospitals, homes, and livelihoods are testaments to a leader driven by vision and compassion.

He has demonstrated that governance is most effective when it is rooted in the people and measured by the lives it touches.

As Nigeria continues to search for models of leadership that inspire confidence and restore faith in the democratic process, Zulum stands tall. His story reminds us that even in adversity, transformational leadership is possible.

On this day of his 56th birthday, I celebrate not just a unique younger brother, but a man whose ideal represents for our country - resilience, sacrifice, and service.

I pray that Almighty God grants him many more years of health, wisdom, and protection, so that he may continue to inspire Borno, the Northeast, and indeed all of Nigeria.

Signed
Boss Mustapha, CFR
