A typical pull day. Heavy on the back, heavy on the biceps. If you want width, you have to pull. If you want thickness, you have to row. Progressive overload is the only way the math makes sense.

If you were told to stay in an enclosed space, 70-90 degrees celsius, for 10 minutes straight, would you do it?

Well that’s exactly where I found myself the other day, at in Novare mall, Sangotedo. They offer spa services like sauna, cold plunge, massages, pilates and many more.

Quick backstory, I first ran into them at the Wellness Expo event. They had this spin-the-wheel game at their booth, and if you know me, you know I got the lucky charm. I did it and won 25% off any of their spa services. Few days later, I showed up to cash it in.

Started with the sauna. This really helps with recovery especially if you workout a lot. It clears your head, gets the blood flowing, while you’re fighting for dear life internally cos it’s HOT mehn!!!!

Decided to add a massage while I was at it to yunno, get the full package. When I got back home that night, I felt so calm, so chill and i was able to get a lot of mental work done, much more than i usually can. That was money well spent mehn

Just a heads up, they actually run a 50% discount on massages on the first and last Saturdays of the month, so if you need that swedish or deep tissue massage for recovery, you know where to go.

My first highlight from .wellnessexpo event last week:

Their whole motto is “Know what’s coming. Change it.” And honestly, that’s exactly how we should be looking at our health right now. Waiting until your body breaks down before you start checking your system should be a thing of the past. Prevention will always be better than cure.

I tested out their smart monitor at the event. Instead of just giving you a basic weight or BMI, it actually breaks down about 20 key health metrics, which include your hydration levels, visceral fat and many more.

But the standout feature for anyone hitting the gym is the limb assessment. It literally compares the muscle on your left arm to your right arm. If you’re doing heavy bench presses or squats and one side is secretly carrying the whole load, this scan catches that imbalance immediately so you can fix it.

Normal calf raises weren’t doing it anymore, so suggested we take it to the stairs. 18 sets, 10 reps, no rest. Worst idea we’ve had all month.

The burn actually makes you rethink your life choices. If you see us walking funny this week, just look away. Who else is skipping the calf machine for this kind of torture?
