Dear Ossai Ovie Success

Honestly, comments like this are one of the reasons Nigeria is where it is today. How can anyone see the countless videos and reports of bandit attacks, kidnappings, Boko Haram killings, and entire communities being displaced, yet come online to say that Verydarkblackman is "chasing clout"?

How is VeryDarkMan chasing clout when he already has millions of followers and one of the biggest social media platforms in Nigeria? That argument simply doesn't add up.

If you want to defend the Tinubu administration, then defend it with facts, evidence, and measurable results not by attacking those who raise concerns. Nigerians are dealing with insecurity, economic hardship, and rising costs of living. In many parts of the country, hardly a day passes without reports of kidnappings or killings.

Whether you like VeryDarkMan or not, the issues being raised are real and affect ordinary Nigerians every day. Instead of dismissing criticism as clout chasing, why not address the concerns and provide evidence that things are improving?

Nigerians are suffering, and what people need right now are solutions and accountability, not blind loyalty to politicians.

Dear Ossai Ovie Success

I'm always surprised when people make statements like this with so much confidence. Saying Peter Obi would run away during a crisis is speculation, not a fact. No one can know what someone would do in a hypothetical situation.

The real question should be: how are Nigerians doing today? Are insecurity, inflation, unemployment, and the cost of living improving enough for ordinary citizens? Those are the issues that matter.

If you believe President Tinubu is taking bold decisions, that's your opinion and you're free to support him. But bold decisions should be judged by their results, not by slogans or political loyalty.

Rather than attacking opposition politicians with assumptions, let's compare leaders based on their records, policies, and the impact those policies have on the lives of Nigerians. Facts and performance should guide the conversation, not emotions.

Prominent political commentator Daniel Bwala has issued a stark warning to voters ahead of the upcoming elections, criticizing the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), and its presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

Bwala stated that citizens’ “cases will be worse” if they vote for APC, claiming that Tinubu lacks experience in government administration and national security, and is focused primarily on taxation matters. His comments are expected to add fuel to the already heated pre-election discourse.

Political analysts say such statements reflect deepening public debates over leadership competence and national security ahead of the polls.

The APC and Tinubu’s campaign team have not issued an immediate response to the remarks.

The Nigerian military has announced the arrest of a suspected drone supplier linked to the terrorist group Boko Haram, in what security sources describe as a significant operational breakthrough.

According to preliminary reports, troops successfully overpowered and captured the suspect during a targeted operation. The individual is believed to have been involved in supplying unmanned aerial equipment allegedly used to support insurgent activities.

Military authorities say the arrest forms part of ongoing counter-terrorism efforts aimed at dismantling supply chains and cutting off logistical support to extremist groups operating within the country.

While further details about the suspect’s identity and the circumstances of the operation are yet to be officially disclosed, security analysts note that disrupting access to drone technology could weaken the operational capabilities of insurgent networks.

The Nigerian Armed Forces have reiterated their commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorist elements and ensuring the safety and security of citizens.

More updates are expected as investigations continue.

Concerns have continued to trail the ongoing council elections in the Federal Capital Territory, as voters and observers report a series of logistical challenges across several polling units.

Some residents allege that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reassigned certain voters to new polling units just hours before the election. Affected voters say the late changes have made it difficult to locate their designated polling units, especially amid movement restrictions reportedly ordered by the FCT Minister.

In addition, several voters complained that they were unable to find their voter details in the accreditation system upon arrival at their polling units. This has raised uncertainty among voters, with many questioning whether alternative arrangements, such as manual accreditation, will be permitted.

Reports from Abaji Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory indicate rising tension among voters following the alleged disappearance of ballot papers at a polling unit earlier today.

Eyewitnesses say electoral materials, particularly ballot papers, were reportedly whisked away under unclear circumstances, bringing the voting process to an abrupt halt. As of the time of filing this report, no voting is taking place at the affected location.

Frustrated voters, many of whom had arrived early to cast their ballots, expressed anger and concern over the situation. Some called on electoral authorities and security agencies to intervene promptly and restore order to ensure that the democratic process is not disrupted.

Officials are yet to release an official statement clarifying the incident or outlining steps being taken to resolve the issue.

I Regret Wasting My 10 Years in Service of Nigeria” — Mike Igini Speaks on Electoral Reforms

Former Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mike Igini, has opened up about his years in public service, expressing deep frustration over the challenges faced while pursuing electoral reforms in Nigeria.

In a candid reflection, Igini stated that he dedicated more than 30 years of his life to public service, including 10 practical years within INEC, working to move Nigeria’s elections away from what he described as a history marked by “frustration and pain.” His mission, he said, was to help restore credibility to the ballot and ensure it truly reflects the will of the people in a democratic system.

Igini revealed that his commitment to credible elections came at significant personal risk. According to him, he narrowly escaped death while carrying out his duties, and a colleague in Kano lost his life in the process of attempting to uphold electoral integrity.

He further noted that resistance to credible elections in Nigeria has been longstanding, making reform efforts difficult and, at times, dangerous. Despite these challenges, Igini maintained that strengthening democratic institutions remains crucial for the country’s stability and development.

His remarks have since sparked conversation online, with many Nigerians debating the state of the nation’s electoral system and the sacrifices made by officials who push for transparency and accountability.
