The newly released food pyramid is sending one clear message:
eat REAL food, not ultra-processed food.

🔺 At the top (what to prioritise):
✔️ Protein (fish, eggs, meat, beans)
✔️ Dairy (preferably unsweetened)
✔️ Healthy fats (avocado, olive oil, nuts)

🥦 Plenty of vegetables & fruits
Nature’s vitamins, fibre, antioxidants – essential for heart health, blood sugar control, and weight management.

🍞 Whole grains at the base – not the focus
Still important, but no longer the main foundation of our meals.

👉🏽 This shift reflects what we now know:
• Too much refined carbs spike blood sugar
• Ultra-processed foods drive obesity, diabetes & hypertension
• Real, whole foods support long-term health

💙 Simple rule:
If your great-grandmother wouldn’t recognise it as food, eat it less.
