The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Monday did not sit to hear the appeal lodged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against the order of a Kogi High Court which restrained the anti-graft agency from arresting the immediate-past governor, Yahaya Bello.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Kogi court, in a ruling on April 17, restrained the EFCC from arresting, detaining and prosecuting Bello.

The judge, I.A Jamil, gave the order in a two-hour judgment delivered in suit no HCL/68/M/2020 in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, on Wednesday.

The judgment coincided with the ”siege’ nvasion of Bello’s home in Abuja by EFCC operatives in a bid to arrest him.

The EFCC is seeking to arraign the former governor on 19 counts bordering on alleged money laundering, breach of trust and misappropriation of funds to the tune of N80.2billion.

The anti-graft agency determined to get Bello to face the law for his alleged crime, approached the Federal High Court in Abuja on the same day to get an arrest warrant.
The warrant was issued following an ex parte motion filed by the EFCC.

In his ruling on the motion, Justice Emeka Nwite also directed that the former governor be produced before him on Thursday, April 18, for arraignment.

He said, “It is hereby ordered as follows:

That an order of this honourable court is hereby made directing and/or issuing a warrant for the immediate arrest of the defendant to bring him before this honourable court for arraignment.

“That case is adjourned until May 18 for arraignment.”

I don't know wether Yahaya Bello has stolen or not, but the manner in which EFCC acted towards arresting former governor Yahaya Bello wasn't professional at all, you don't try to arrest a man whom you have not invited through any legal means. This is also a man who had already secured a Court injection against prosecution. The best thing EFCC should have done was to approach a superior court to secure arrest warrant _ Nigeria's most celebrated journalist, Jide Otitoju.

Ex Gov Yahaya Bello Wanted By the EFCC

Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion. Anybody with information as to his whereabout should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station.

His landlord sent him and his family packing because he could not renew his house rent.

He then applied for loan from the manager of the company he was working for, but the loan was not approved.

He contacted the influential man in his community, but could not find help. He then called his relatives on the phone, but no one helped him.

He went to Facebook and posted, seeking for help, but the only thing he got was: 2 likes and 0 comments.

He became frustrated and sent 120 messages to friends on his contact list, asking them for support of N100,000.

Unfortunately, only 10 people responded to the message. Six out of the 10 said they had nothing to give. Only one out of 4 people gave him N20,000, but the rest kept apologizing and eventually stopped picking his calls.

The landlord locked the house!

His family were thrown out and left at the front door of the house with their belongings.

He became more frustrated!

He went everywhere in search of help but could not find one until nightfall.

As he made more effort in the dark, looking for solution, a truck ran over him and killed him instantly.

The next day, news of his death spread everywhere.

His Facebook friends made 2220 posts on his wall, mourning his death and expressing their admiration for him.

The landlord immediately ran to open the door for his family to go in to receive mourners.

The influential man who earlier refused to help him, took some food items and groceries to the family to cook for the mourners.

Preparations for his burial began later and his friends, who formed a committee raised N1,200,000 through donations to feed sympathizers that will be coming from different places.

His co-workers also raised N300,000 to collect booths, chairs and other items.

JUST IN: Verydarkman was arrested today after his online battle with Bobrisky.

Allegedly, he said the police force are not doing anything to prosecute Bobrisky.

Why? He said “because they are knacking Bob”.

Imagine calling out a whole authority in such a ill and deficient manner.

Now he has been arrested & seized. He should go and defend and tell us when Police turn g@y.

Maria Ude was very right when she said VDM is doing too much.

She was 100 percent correct and veracious in her assessment.

I personally like the guy, but he’s crossing lot of boundaries. Boundaries he shouldn’t cross, nor tamper with.

There’s a saying that goes:

"If you want to show how good a dancer you are, prove to us during the rehearsal. And No matter how good you are, if you stay for too long you spoil it. A good dancer must know when to leave the stage."

You get it?

This quote highlights the importance of knowing when to gracefully exit a situation or role, even if you're excelling in it.

It's about recognizing when it's the right time to move on, allowing others to have their moment, and avoiding overstaying your welcome.

It's aabout understanding when your presence has made its mark and when it's time to step back and allow space for others or for new opportunities.

Wizkid announces N100m as Christmas gift to children

In a heartwarming gesture, Grammy-winning singer Wizkid has announced that he will be giving out 100 million naira to children as Christmas gift.

The singer made this known on his Instagram story on Monday.

Wizkid, in a separate post, noted that the donation is dedicated to the memory of his late mother, who was laid to rest in a grand ceremony a few weeks ago.

While there are no details about the distribution, the Ojuelegba crooner hinted that it will begin on Monday in Surulere.
