A mother of four, Amarachi Promise-Amadi, is demanding justice after losing three of her children in a tragic crash along the Eastern Bypass in the Ogbunabali area of Port Harcourt.
The incident, which occurred around 8:30 p.m. on May 15, reportedly happened when a vehicle veered off the road and rammed into the family’s residence. Speaking with our correspondent, the grieving mother said she had briefly stepped out to answer a phone call when the car suddenly rammed into their compound while her children were outside. The crash claimed the lives of her three children, aged 3, 4 and 10, while also leaving her domestic staff injured. Promise-Amadi alleges that the vehicle was occupied by a young man who was reportedly teaching his girlfriend how to drive at the time of the incident.
The grieving mother further accused the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital and other medical facilities of negligence, alleging that her injured daughter and domestic staff were denied prompt medical attention after they were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Promise-Amadi is now calling on the Rivers State Police Command to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and ensure that justice is served for her deceased children. The distraught mother urged the police to follow due process in handling the matter, alleging that the female driver and her boyfriend attempted to flee the scene immediately after the crash, but were prevented from escaping by her and the residents of the area.
