Kogi NCAN Chapter Inaugurated as Federal Government Reaffirms Commitment to Cashew Industry
Abuja, Nigeria – The National Cashew Association of Nigeria (NCAN) has recorded another milestone with the formal inauguration of its Kogi State Chapter during a ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Abuja.
The inauguration featured the presentation of Certificates of Return to the duly elected State Chairmen and Secretary. The certificates were signed by the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. John Owan Enoh, and formally presented during the event.
The key officials inaugurated for the Kogi State Chapter were Dr. Idris Yakubu, Managing Director Dikubs Nig. Ltd., who was inaugurated as Kogi State Chairman, and Alhaji Abdulkerim Ademu Maji (AK), who assumed office as the State Secretary. Also present at the inauguration were, DG Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion and Market Development (KOSCEPA) Hon. Victor Omofaye, and NCAN National Executive members from Kogi State, including the National Treasurer, Alhaji Dr. A.B. Mohammad (Demo), and the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Stephen Ahiaba, who joined other national officers and stakeholders in witnessing the historic occasion.
The ceremony underscored the Federal Government's continued commitment to strengthening Nigeria's cashew value chain and promoting effective leadership across the Association's state chapters.
The event attracted several distinguished dignitaries, including the Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry; the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims; the Chairman of the NCAN Board of Trustees, Mr. Inoezindu Sony Stevenson; members of the Board of Trustees; the National President of NCAN, Mr. Ademola Adesokan; the National Secretary, Mr. Olarotimi Ayeka; state chairmen from across the federation; and other key stakeholders in Nigeria's cashew industry.
The inauguration of the Kogi State Chapter is expected to strengthen collaboration among cashew farmers, processors, exporters and marketers across the state, while advancing NCAN's vision of promoting sustainable growth, value addition, improved market access and increased contribution of the cashew industry to Nigeria's agricultural and economic development.
