FATE OF AN UNFORTUNATE BIRD
From afar off into the distance,
Comes the hurling sound of pain,
Loud, persistent and full of agony,
Despite the tone of pain and suffering,
The ache doesn't seem to be alleviated.
Hopeful of help, not giving up,
The helpless bird continues to wail.
Not very far from where it lays,
Come echos of laughter and shouts of joy,
Amidst wining and dining and pleasure in all,
The joyous birds feast and dine continually,
The painful shout of the dying bird faint to their ears,
Even as it gets louder and more persistent.
Soon, the celebration is over,
It's necessary to obey the inevitable home calls,
One at a time, they begin their journey away,
Until they suddenly stumble on their dead colleague.
Although, none wanting to take the blame,
All are sorry for the loss of their fellow to the hands of death,
Wishing they have been more careful.
But the dead is gone,
And nothing can be done,
The living continue their daily routine,
Memories about the dead soon go into extinction.
And then the two most prominent sayings come to live;
"Only you will be responsible for yourself,"
"The dead will never be remembered for long."
