Kogi-Born Philanthropist, Engr. Sunday Peter, Makes Waves With Grassroots Projects Across Ankpa
ANKPA, KOGI STATE — Kogi-born philanthropist and grassroots development advocate, Engr. Sunday Peter, has continued to attract attention across the Ankpa Federal Constituency through a series of interventions targeted at education, women empowerment, youth development, water supply and rural infrastructure.
Despite not occupying an elected political office, Engr. Sunday Peter has undertaken several initiatives aimed at directly improving the lives of people within various communities.
Among the projects attributed to the philanthropist is the commissioning of about five boreholes, providing communities with access to water and addressing one of the basic needs of rural residents.
Investment in Education
Education has also remained a major area of his intervention.
Engr. Sunday Peter has reportedly supported 30 students of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), 10 students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), and 30 students of the Kogi State College of Education through scholarship opportunities.
The initiative is aimed at supporting students from different backgrounds and helping beneficiaries remain focused on their academic pursuits.
Supporting Women and Families
His humanitarian activities have also extended to women and households.
According to information from his supporters, Engr. Sunday Peter distributed about 30,000 wrappers to women and provided approximately 500 bags of rice for distribution across communities.
The gesture, according to beneficiaries and supporters, was intended to provide immediate support to families and women within the communities.
Youth Empowerment and Rural Development
Beyond education and humanitarian assistance, the philanthropist has also embarked on various youth empowerment initiatives, with the objective of helping young people become more economically productive.
He has also provided solar-powered street lights to some villages within the Ankpa Federal Constituency, contributing to improved visibility and security in rural communities after dark.
