*SPEECH BY HON. AMOKA ENEJI MONDAY, EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF OKEHI LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, ON THE OCCASION OF HIS ONE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY IN OFFICE*

Our revered leaders and elders,
My Dear colleagues in governance,
Distinguished guests, party faithful, members of the press, ladies and Gentlemen.
Today, I stand before you with profound gratitude to Almighty God and to the good people of Okehi Local Government Area as we commemorate exactly one year since I was sworn in as your Executive Chairman.
The past year has been both challenging and fulfilling, A Period guided by our collective determination to deliver quality governance and improve the lives of our people.
From the very first day I assumed office, I took an oath to protect lives and property, and I have pursued that sacred mandate with every sense of duty, diligence, and sincerity.
*Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen,*
Over the past twelve months, our administration has recorded remarkable progress through purposeful leadership, teamwork, and strong collaboration with the Kogi State Government under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
When we assumed office, we met serious infrastructural and logistical challenges, There was no functional administrative building and no operational vehicles for official duties.
However, upon presenting these needs to our Chief Servant, His Excellency, Governor Ododo, he graciously responded. Today, the remodeling of our Local Government Secretariat is ongoing, and official vehicles have been provided to my office, while more will soon be procured to enhance efficiency among our administrative team.
*Infrastructure Development*
We have embarked on the ongoing remodelling of the Okehi Local Government Secretariat here in Obangede.
Several Primary Healthcare Centres across the eleven wards are being renovated and newly constructed to Bring healthcare closer to our people...
More than sixty inner roads linking our communities are under construction, improving access and boosting local commerce.
And perhaps most notably, the complete reconstruction of the Obangede–Ihima Road, Obangede - Okaito Road, A route abandoned for over a decade is now restoring easy movement for farmers, traders, and commuters alike.
These achievements became possible through our excellent working relationship with the State Government under the capable leadership of our Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.
*Security and Peace Building*
Security has remained one of our top priorities.
We took decisive steps to protect our people by engaging in joint security operations that dislodged criminal elements, rescued kidnapped victims, and strengthened collaboration with neighbouring local governments.
Through regular farmer–herder peace meetings, we have fostered understanding, harmony, and peaceful coexistence among our diverse communities.
*Cultural and Social Stability*
Our native festivals and cultural events across Okehi have been celebrated peacefully and successfully.
This was made possible through dialogue, intelligence sharing, and proactive security measures that ensured the safety of our people.
*Welfare and Empowerment*
With the maximum support of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, our administration has consistently reached out to our people with palliatives on a quarterly basis, ensuring that no one is left behind in our development journey.
*Appreciation*
My people, None of these achievements would have been possible without the unity, cooperation, and dedication of our political leaders, party loyalists, councillors, ward chairmen, appointees, and the hardworking staff of Okehi Local Government.
To my principal, mentor, and father figure, His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, I remain deeply grateful for your guidance, encouragement, and partnership in progress.
We can't end this without praying and appreciate the role played by our state leader, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for sustaining continuity in governance in Kogi state, may Allah continue to Promote, Guide you all the days of your life ( Amen)

As we celebrate this milestone, I Reaffirm my total commitment to continue serving you with sincerity, energy, and vision.
This one year is just the beginning.
Greater achievements lie ahead, and together, we will build the Okehi of our dreams, An Okehi of peace, progress, and prosperity.
On Behalf of my family, I thank every son and daughter of Okehi for your prayers, trust, and support from the very first day till this moment.
