*AWARD OF SCHOLARSHIP AND CAREER OUTREACH*

The Legal Aid CDS on her Career Outreach to Secondary School made a notable stop at the Muslim Community Secondary School, Lokoja, where we provided a deserving student who stood out tops in some art subjects scholarship for future terms, as well as via a panel session provide practical tools to enable them in their career choice.

Both students and staff of the school were welcoming and warm, and this contributed to the overall success of the outreach.

Last week we engaged the young minds of Eagle's Academy, Advocacy Club which we established some months back in an educative debate competition.

They harped on the subject of Law and Morality and it was a pleasure seeing the work they put in, the winners went home with prizes.

MOOT COMPETITION AT SALEM UNIVERSITY, ORGANIZED BY THE LEGAL AID CDS GROUP.

The competition was an avenue for these future lawyers to sharpen their advocacy skills and hone court room ethics.

The Moot Court Competition provided a rigorous forum for the students of the Salem University College of Law to demonstrate advocacy and legal reasoning, and they did it with all zest and excellence.

Indeed the several weeks of training, building up to this day the 20th of May, 2025, proved to be productive.

The Legal Aid CDS Lokoja paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Kogi State, Mr. Muzi Yinus Abdullahi SAN and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Solicitor-General of Kogi State, Hajia Falilat Yusuf.

The Attorney-General and Solicitor-General warmly received the team as the duo commended the Legal Aid CDS for great achievements so far.

The duo independently gave valuable counsel from their wealth of knowledge to the team and offered support towards the various upcoming projects of the Legal Aid CDS Group.

The Legal Aid CDS team visited the College of Law, Salem University, Lokoja, Kogi State on Friday, 4 April 2025, to inaugurate and launch the Moot and Mock Society.

The overall ambience was joy and enthusiasm as students gathered at the purpose hall for the unveiling.

The presence of Moot and Mock Society in Salem University will undoubtedly aid the students in advocacy, procedural law and knowledge of practice of the legal profession, and position them for healthy competitions with other universities and colleges of law across the country.

In addition, the pioneer executives of the Society were inaugurated to steer the leadership of the Society.
