RAAMP: A Flagship of Rural Transformation in Kogi, Says Project Coordinator
The Kogi State Project Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), Engineer Sheidu Obansa Adamu, has described the project as a beacon of rural development and transformation across the state, affirming that it has become a flagship initiative impacting communities in the remotest parts of Kogi.
Engineer Obansa made this known during a meeting of the State Project Monitoring Committee (SPMC) held earlier today. In his address, he expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his unwavering support and love for the rural populace. According to him, the Governor’s sustained commitment has been instrumental in the progress and success of RAAMP’s interventions across the state.
He further acknowledged the consistent guidance and backing of the Honourable Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Engineer Abdulmutalib Muhammad, whose leadership, he noted, has kept the project aligned with its core objectives.
The Project Coordinator also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Chairman of the SPMC and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Rural and Energy Development, Alhaji Hussein Isah Suleiman, alongside other committee members. He commended their vigilance, constructive oversight, and valuable counsel which, he said, have helped the State Project Implementation Unit (SPIU) stay focused, even amid operational challenges.
Despite turbulence in the project environment, Engineer Obansa stated that RAAMP in Kogi has recorded commendable milestones. He highlighted the commencement of civil works in various locations as a significant breakthrough, adding that the project's footprint can now be felt in virtually every nook and cranny of the state.
The Chairman of the SPMC, Alhaji Hussein Isah Suleiman, in his remarks, appreciated members for their steadfastness and collaboration, urging them to sustain the momentum. He described their collective efforts as encouraging and vital to the project’s success.
Other members of the committee lauded the SPIU for the achievements recorded so far and pledged their unalloyed support for the team and the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.
The meeting also featured a solemn moment, as a minute of silence was observed in honor of the late Mrs. Ramotu Yusuf, a dedicated member of the committee who recently passed on.
