Governor Zulum Receives Hero’s Welcome After Weeklong Mission to Insurgency-Ravaged Communities
His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, received a hero’s welcome upon his return to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, after spending a week on the frontlines of nine insurgency-ravaged communities. These communities span across Marte, Kala-Balge, Gamboru-Ngala, and Dikwa Local Government Areas.
The Governor’s frontline mission was aimed at facilitating the resettlement of displaced residents, assessing the extent of damage, strengthening community resilience, and directly engaging with military troops stationed in the affected areas to boost their morale and operational capacity.
Upon his return to Maiduguri, Governor Zulum was welcomed by a mammoth crowd stretching from the Muna City Gate through Customs Area, Gwange, and Lagos Street, all the way to the Government House. The streets were filled with chants of praise, joyful expressions, and heartfelt gestures of solidarity. Supporters hailed him as “the Hero of the Masses,” celebrating his tireless commitment to the welfare and security of his people.
