Zulum Condemns Maiduguri Mosque Su***de Attack, Calls for Vigilance in Worship, Public Places

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has condemned, in strong terms, a su***de attack at Gomboru market mosque in Maiduguri metropolis on Wednesday evening.

A suspected su***de bomber sneaked into the mosque while worshippers were performing the Maghrib prayer, killing five people and injuring 35 others.

Governor Zulum, conveying his profound condolences from the frontline in northern Borno through his Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, called for increased vigilance and heightened security measures, particularly in places of worship during the festive period.

“I am deeply saddened by the Gamboru mosque su***de attack which occurred on Wednesday evening when worshippers were performing Maghrib prayer, killing 5 people and injuring 35 others. The act is utterly condemnable, barbaric and inhumane,” Zulum said.

He added, “Attacking a place of worship is a desecration of the sanctity of the mosque at a time when Muslim faithful are performing acts of worship.”

“I wish to express my condolences to the families of all those that lost their lives in the attack and pray for the repose of their souls, and for the speedy recovery of those injured,” he stated.

The Governor assured that adequate measures have been taken to forestall any security breach during the festive period and beyond.

Shugaban ƙasa Bola Ahmed Tinubu ya ƙaddamar da wani kwamiti na Dabaru, Warware Rikice-rikice da Wayar da Kai domin magance sabani a cikin jam’iyyar All Progressives Congress (APC) yayin da jam’iyyar ke shirin tunkarar babban zaɓen 2027.

An ƙaddamar da kwamitin ne a ranar Laraba a birnin Lagos, inda ya ƙunshi gwamnoni na jam’iyyar, mambobin Majalisar Zartarwa ta Tarayya da sauran manyan masu ruwa da tsaki. Gwamnan Jihar Yobe, Mai Mala Buni, shi ne Shugaban kwamitin, yayin da tsohon Mai Ba da Shawara kan Shari’a na APC, Muiz Banire, ke matsayin Mamba/Sakatare.

Sauran mambobin kwamitin sun haɗa da Sanata Adamu Aliero, Shugaban Ƙungiyar Gwamnonin Najeriya kuma Gwamnan Kwara, Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, Shugaban Ƙungiyar Gwamnonin Jam’iyyar APC kuma Gwamnan Imo, Hope Uzodimma, da gwamnoni Hyacinth Alia (Benue), Umar Namadi (Jigawa), Bassey Otu (Cross River), Abiodun Oyebanji (Ekiti) da Sheriff Oborevwori (Delta).

Haka kuma, gwamna Uba Sani (Kaduna) da Siminalayi Fubara (Rivers), Ministan Harkokin Teku da Tattalin Arzikin Ruwa, Adegboyega Oyetola, Ƙaramin Ministan Tsaro, Bello Matawalle, da tsohon Gwamnan Jihar Kogi, Yahaya Bello, na cikin mambobin kwamitin.

Da yake jawabi a wajen ƙaddamarwar, Mai Mala Buni ya gode wa jam’iyya bisa amincewa da shi da sauran mambobi, yana mai cewa kwamitin zai gudanar da aikinsa cikin ƙwarewa da jajircewa. Ya ce za su yi shawarwari da tattaunawa domin samar da dabaru masu faɗi, nagarta da ɗorewa, tare da samar da tsarin da zai bai wa kowa, musamman masu ƙorafi damar jin ana damawa da su.

Buni ya ƙara da cewa kwamitin zai yi la’akari da matakan kariya da hanyoyin magance barazana tun kafin ta taso, yana mai kira ga mambobi da su guji fifita son rai ko ra’ayin kashin kai a kan muradun jam’iyya.

Tun a ranar Juma’a, 19 ga Disamba, a taron Kwamitin Zartarwa na Ƙasa (NEC) na APC da aka gudanar a Abuja, Shugaba Tinubu ya jaddada muhimmancin haɗin kai a jam’iyya. Ya bayyana wa shugabannin jam’iyyar cewa APC ta ginu ne a kan akidar siyasar ci gaba, faɗaɗa shigar kowa da girmama bambancin ra’ayi.

A cewarsa, dole ne dimokuraɗiyyar Najeriya ta dore, kuma hakan zai samu ne kawai ta hanyar juriya, haƙuri da bai wa kowa wuri a cikin tafiyar siyasa.

Gwamnatin Tarayya ta taya ’yan Nijeriya murnar Kirsimeti, ta yi kira a yi haɗin kai da tausayi

Gwamnatin Tarayya ta taya jama'ar ƙasar nan, musamman mabiya addinin Kirista, murnar bikin Kirsimeti, inda ta bayyana lokacin a matsayin na ƙauna, sadaukarwa da kyakkyawar fata, tare da kira ga ’yan Nijeriya da su ci gaba da nuna haɗin kai da tausayi duk da ƙalubalen da ake fuskanta.

Hakan na ƙunshe ne a cikin wata sanarwa da Ministan Yaɗa Labarai da Wayar da Kai, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, ya fitar a ranar Laraba.

A cewar Ministan, darussan da bikin Kirsimeti ke koyarwa suna tunatar da ’yan Nijeriya muhimmancin kula da juna, zama tsintsiya-maɗaurin-ki-ɗaya, da kuma ci gaba da yarda da makomar ƙasar nan, ko da a lokutan wahala.

Sanarwar ta bayyana cewa Gwamnatin Tarayya tana daraja juriya da jajircewar ’yan Nijeriya, tare da jaddada cewa ba za a raina haƙurin da s**a yi ko wahalhalun da s**a sha ba.

“Haƙuri da juriya da ’yan Nijeriya s**a nuna ba za a ɗauke su da wasa ba, haka kuma zufa da gumin su ba zai tafi a banza ba,” inji sanarwar.

Ministan ya kuma tabbatar da cewa gwamnatin Shugaban Ƙasa Bola Ahmed Tinubu tana ci gaba da maida hankali wajen gina Nijeriya mai tsaro, ƙarfi da wadata, wacce za ta amfani kowa da kowa.

Ya yi kira ga ’yan Nijeriya da su yi amfani da lokacin bukukuwan wajen tunawa da waɗanda suke fuskantar matsaloli a sassa daban-daban na ƙasar nan, tare da yin addu’a ga iyalan da hare-haren ta’addanci s**a shafa.

Haka kuma, Idris ya buƙaci jama’a da su saka jami’an tsaro a addu'oin su, yana mai yaba wa jajircewar su wajen kare rayuka, dukiyoyi da ƙasar daga barazana iri-iri.

“Yayin da muke murnar wannan lokaci, mu tuna da waɗanda ke cikin ƙalubale, mu yi addu’a ga iyalan da hare-haren ta’addanci ya shafa, sannan mu riƙa tunawa da jami’an tsaron mu waɗanda ke ci gaba da kare rayukan mu, dukiyoyin mu da ƙasar mu daga kowace irin barazana,” inji shi.

Gwamnatin Tarayya ta kuma ƙarfafa ’yan Nijeriya da su yi amfani da wannan lokaci wajen ƙara haɓaka zaman lafiya, tausayi, da haɗin kai a cikin gidajen su da al’ummomin su, tana mai cewa haɗin kan ƙasa muhimmin ginshiƙi ne na ci gaba da ɗorewar zaman lafiya.

Ya ce: “Mu yi amfani da wannan lokaci wajen inganta zaman lafiya, kyautatawa da haɗin kai a cikin gidajen mu da al’ummomin mu.”

Ya kammala da yi wa ’yan Nijeriya fatan murnar Kirsimeti cikin annashuwa da kuma sabuwar shekara mai albarka, tare da yin addu’ar Allah Ya albarkaci Nijeriya.

“Barka da Kirsimeti da kuma sabuwar shekara mai albarka. Allah Ya albarkace ku baki ɗaya. Allah Ya albarkaci Jamhuriyar Tarayyar Nijeriya,” inji sanarwar.

Suspected Explosion at Al-Adum Jumaat Mosque, Gamboru Market; Police EOD Commence Sweeping Operations

A suspected explosion incident was recorded on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at the Al-Adum Jumaat Mosque, located within the Gamboru Market area of Maiduguri, at about 6:00 p.m. while worshippers were observing prayers.

Following the incident, personnel of the Nigeria Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit were immediately deployed to the scene to carry out sweeping and safety operations. The area has been cordoned off to prevent further risks to the public, as security agencies intensify checks and conduct investigations to determine the cause and nature of the incident.

Residents and business operators within the vicinity have been urged to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperate with security operatives as the operation continues.

The Borno State Police Command assured that further updates will be communicated as investigations progress.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso Anipr, FCAI, on December 24, 2025.

Borno State Appreciates Stakeholders After Successful National Qur’anic Recitation Competition

The Borno State Government has expressed profound gratitude to individuals and institutions whose support ensured the successful hosting of the National Annual Qur’anic Recitation Competition (Musabaqah), Borno 2025.

In a public statement issued by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC), the state commended the invaluable contributions of His Excellency, the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON, and his wife, Hajja Nana Kashim Shettima, whose presence added prestige to the event.

The LOC also extended appreciation to the Executive Governors of Katsina and Yobe States, Usmanu Danfodio University, Sokoto, the University of Maiduguri, members of the National Planning Committee for the Musabaqah, eminent Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, government officials, as well as chairmen and secretaries of the various sub-committees.

Borno State Government Concludes Free Transportation Exercise for Christian Faithful

The Borno State Government has successfully concluded the third and final day of its free transportation exercise for Christian faithful, marking the end of the 2025 annual yuletide support programme in the state.

The initiative, implemented through the Ohaneze APC Support Group, was first introduced in 2020 following the directive of His Excellency, Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, as part of efforts to promote unity, inclusiveness and peaceful coexistence among residents of the state. Now in its sixth edition, the programme provided free transportation and financial support to over 1,000 commuters travelling across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

In addition to the transportation support, no fewer than 300 widows and other vulnerable persons are expected to benefit from palliative assistance under the scheme.

Speaking during the exercise, the Chairman of the Ohaneze APC Support Group, Chief Ugochukwu E. Egwudike, JP, commended the Zulum-led administration for its sustained commitment to peace, social cohesion and the welfare of all citizens, irrespective of religious or ethnic background.

Several beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Borno State Government, describing the gesture as timely and compassionate, and lauding the Governor for consistently supporting religious harmony and humanitarian initiatives, especially during festive periods.
